I Hate Thieves!!!
I may have to rethink leaving the Ipod charger connected to the outlet. Its there even without the Ipod in the vehicle, and I would hate to have somebody break in like that on spec. The cost and aggravation of the breakin is well beyond the cost of the IPOD (my daughter's was stolen, but that was out of a gym locker).
I know my home insurance has a "reduced rate" based on how many years you go without putting in a claim. I'm sure that keeps smaller claims way down for them, but of course kind of limits the use of insurance to us homeowners.
Getting stuff stolen like that is nasty. When they actually break into your car to do it, it's ten times as worse.

GXlexus470~ Just about every insurance company in America has what they call the CLUE report. This report is a linked database between companies to keep track of claims that were reported (even if they were not paid out, in most cases). Homeowner's insurance is a very touchy subject. We have insurance so that it will pay for our claims, but when we do report a claim it will typically affect the way our premiums will be in the future and also our future renew ability.
There was an article in Readers Digest about 1-2 years ago about homeowner's insurance. It had letters from homeowner's who had put in a few claims on their insurance and then were non-renewed because of the claims that were reported. After one claim an insurance company cannot really cancel you (there's ways around this), and two claims they can non-renew the policy. Some homeowner's that were in RD stated that they had a few claims (2 or more; typically 3) less than $1000 and were canceled. Then they had a very difficult time finding an insurance company that would insure them and so their mortgage company would "force place" insurance on the home, which gave them much much less coverage.
So what I'm trying to get across here is that a claim on your homeowner's insurance will typically make the company very nervous because your annual premium is very low compared to the amount the company may have to pay out even after your deductible. And putting in a small claim makes them think you will consider putting in any type of claim no matter the amount of damage.
All in all, it's not a huge deal, but something that your insurance agent should always discuss with you before reporting any kind of claim. Please don't take anything that I write here as gospel because claims truly are a case by case situation and I am merely trying to explain a little bit how homeowner's insurance works.
If you have further questions, you can PM me and I’ll explain it better.

sry to hear that hapen, we were using a friends bmw and it had my golf clubs in the trunk, and we parked the car in the parking lot of excalibur, we come back to find someone broke the glass, and opened the trunk to steal my golf clubs. we figure must have seen them when we were getting something from the trunk. don worry though, good guys always stand on top, like someone else here said
Thanks for all the kind words, it really sucked to see something I try very hard to "baby", go down for really nothing...
I did get the GX back tho, insurance and the body shop did an outstanding job!
list of repairs:
passenger glass
door panel
glove box
front passenger leather seat back cover
rear right leather seat back cover
the whole center console from the wood shifter panel to the rear AC controls
new shift boots
repaired top part of door
replace weathertech visor
estimated damages $5000...pretty much all because of one broken window, 95% of the damages were caused by the broken glass debris
I must say tho, it's like having a face lift inside... everything is brand new!

Similiar situation with front passanger side window smashed in. What did they get?: My bag of quarters, prepaid espresso card, tire gauge, nav system quick reference card - all in the glove box - go figure. In Seattle, I never leave anything showing unless the 96 lb Rhodesian Ridgeback is also with it - in HIS GX.
Safeco was very very helpful. No quibbles about OEM glass. And because the inside leather/vinyl door panel was scratched, they replaced rather than having someone patch it. At first they did want to patch the panel, but when it became apparent that it would always show and possibly reopen, they said okay to new ($1100.00 vs. $100.00).
Sorry about yours. Fix it right then put it behind you.

purplehazek4, did any surface need painting? If so, how well does it match? Someone vandalized my GX yesterday
. Looks like they took a grinder to it the rear driver side fender and some on the drive side door, lower panel. All done in the parking lot at work. None of the cameras caught anything. I'll try to get pics of the damage up later today.
The door panel scratches where not too bad and I did put some touchup on it, but I'm not happy with how that looks. The fender, that will need to be done by a pro for sure, so I'm just going to have all the areas done by a body shop. My concern is how well the paint is going to match.

Sorry to hear about your unfortunate incident. That is that sad state of the world today. People will steal a $300 item from you that causes $5000 worth of damage not to mention the time and inconvenience. This reminds me of the people who cut the powerlines down to steal the copper wiring. They leave hundreds stranded in the dark so they can have $100 for the copper. Don't get me started on the people stealing catalytic converters.
