Default what happened to my orig message

The question was whether the 3rd row seat "option" was really an option at all since i have never seen one and neither has anyone at the dealership and neither had anyone at the LA car show. Apparently calling it an option is like saying that a red traffic signal is only a suggestion. I have yet to find a GX without a 3rd row. . which is the way i want it.

Yea you never see a GX without one! You will have to special order it without it if you want one.

But then again its a good reselling point too? Just pull the 3rd row out and stuff in the basement

I don't know anyone who has ever seen one without a special order (unless they were more common in the first year or two and then eliminated when nobody bought them).

The truth is, when the typical buyer pays that kind of money and drives a huge, heavy vehicle, they usually want at least the option to carry a couple more people. I have carried 7 people a number of times (I now get my whole Girl Scout troop in at once- not sure if that is good or bad). When we went camping last weekend, I only took three of them myself and removed the rear seats entirely so I could stuff in all our gear.

The "hanging seats" have to win an award as the worst kludge of a design, but removing them entirely does maximize space. They are a pain to remove and put back in, so I try not to do it too often.

With the seats removed, you essentially have a five seat vehicle. I have rarely used those flexible covers - when I bought the RX350 we removed it before we left the dealer and haven't put it back since. They are usually more trouble than they are worth.

Here's one without the 3rd row seat. Very rare indeed. Scroll down to the 10th photo. I would have given up the 3rd seat/rear A/C option for the tonneau cover. And I would have saved a small fortune.

Hmmmm..sweet GX indeed. I've seen a few without third row seats, but they were minus eveything else as well. I didn't think you could get one with sport package and nav without 3rd row seats. I love the rear AC out here in the desert though. I use it all the time, even without anyone in the back to quickly cool the large cabin.

Too bad the cover can't be purchased as an option or add-on
