Looks like there's only a single bearing now, and the entire unit is disposable. Not only that, but you have to buy it from the dealer, making bearing replacement potentially expensive in the long run. At least with the older non-sealed units (inner/outer bearings), although you need to repack about every 60K mi, the cost of LX/LC repack parts is cheap if you provide the labor ($17 for oil seal, $3 for lock washer, $1.50 for gasket x 2 on discount). With some luck, the GX parts are the same as on the 4runner, meaning you can buy the Toyota part and/or have the Toyota dealer do it. If it were a lexus only part, that would be bad. The plus side is it looks very easy to replace the front rotors on the GX since the rotor is bolted on top of the hub.
Now that my vehicle is out of warranty, I do most of the repair work myself, in the next couple weeks I am going to replace my steering rack boots and tie rod end links. I noticed they needed to be replaced when I changed my brakes and rotated my tires.
I go to my Toyota dealer for an oil change every 5,000 miles for an oil change that costs about $35. The cabin air filter is easy to clean or replace yourself.
