Default newbie intro............

Just a little intro.
Newbie to clublexus but not a newbie to owning lexus. Traded in our ES300 Friday, for our GX470. Loved the ES300, it was a good little car. But it was kinda small for a growing family of four. For a 96 3.0 it had some get up and go!

We bought a 2005 blizzard pearl CPO. 44,000 miles under 40g's
Navi, M levison, rear DVD in each headrest. the truck is mint inside and out. I was sceptical about the milage, but hey its a Lexus right? that and it was CPO.

I read through alot of these topics and decided this would be a good place to become a member. Lots of good topics with great responses.
I'm also a member at fordtruckworld.com under 1lowexpo. My 99' expy has been an ongoing project of mine for many years, your welcomed to visit the site and check it out. Just search Expeditions in Iowa.

I'm sure i'll have lots of questions as time goes on and am happy to fill in my .02 as well.
So this is my hello clublexus!

Welcome to the forum Ohmy05! Congrats on your purchase. I purchased a 2005 CPO about 8 months ago (it had higher miles too) and have been very happy with it.

Welcome again, Ohmy! I am sure you will enjoy your GX. I was active in the Ford trucks forum when it existed on Compuserve when I had my Explorer, but don't think I made it over to fordtruckworld.com.

I see that you have a non-standard RSES - the one that comes OEM in the Lexus has the dropdown screen from the ceiling. The headrest ones were installed by the previous owner either at Lexus or elsewhere, or by the owners themselves. Any chance the dealer has any info about the interface that was used, etc. that might help with the other questions you had?

If you search around, a few other members put in a system like that - I tend to think it looks really nice and doesn't interfere with rear vision like the drop down units.

The TV headrests were indeed installed at the Lexus dealer. I asked about them a little bit, and was told that they too are included in the warranty since they were installed there. They also had a corner area in the waiting area advertising these exact headrest dvd units, along with a bunch of brochures. I cannot rememeber exactly what the dealrer told me about the interface. But i think i was told that i could watch the dvd up front as long as the vehical was in park. If thats true, i don't know how the dvd signal is sent up front. I know in order to watch the same dvd on both tv's i have to run a video wire connecting them both( no big deal).

Maybe the Invision units... I hear that is what many Lexus dealers go with...

yep those would be the ones! To bad my lex did come factory with RES. Oh well, i suppose if i cannot enter navi destinstions no matter what on the fly then it doesn't matter to me either way. I have a pioneer AVIC-n2 in my show truck, that thing lets you do anything on the fly, which can be very helpful if your not in a good situation to just pull over.
