Oh heck yeah You have it all at the Lexus dealer. MB doesn't have squat, unless the mob got there before I do which I never see anything laying around or getting refilled

No I didn't go to Newport Beach. I went to Westminster.

I got my GX back yesterday and got to drive it around today. No more clunk issue and I have to say that the ride is actually better. It's firmer especially when taking turns. I'm happy to get my gx back again

My GX was firmer too after the TSB, but it goes back to normal after a month or so.

Dropped my truck off at 9AM, they called me around 12 to say it was done... guess they are getting good at doing these... Truck rides MUCH stiffer... I like it! I hope it stays this way... much more like the ride I am used to from my BMWs... Felt like I could go into corners faster, etc. Previously, my GX felt very "boaty" which was my one major complaint... Should have looked for one with KDSS, but oh well... I realize once the suspension wears a bit, the ride will probably return to its old ways, but even if it maintains a modicum of the new-found stiffness, I'll be happier... New components look beefier, although I can't say that I really analyzed the old components... New ones are nice and black (for the moment)... My dealer has me sign the authorization that goes back to Toyota for them to pay for the warranty service... total tab (parts and labor) was just under $1K... Kind if cheap, I thought, considering... Of course, multiply that by thousands and thousands of vehicles, and it gets expensive real quick!

Default on national backorder

I had the old fix done @ around 20k miles. But as with others the clunk came back. Last sat I turned in my GX for regular 5k interval service, @ Magnussen Lexus of Fremont, and asked them to perform the newer clunk fix as well. Got a loaner as they had to order parts. Came monday and I got a call back that the parts are in fact on national backorder, and it would take 2-3 weeks before they get parts in.

My "clunk" was very minimal at best. Magnussen did a perfect job with the TSB fix on the truck. The parts took a month to arrive at the dealership.

The original clunk I had was pretty significant and frequent. The 1st TSB fix almost eliminated it but it returned after several thousand miles. Now it is not that frequent but is certainly noticable when happens. I'm pretty hopeful that Magnussen will fix it after they get the parts. Thanks for your feedback.

Parts came in last week, got the fix today. Drives great, doesn't seem to "float along" as much as far as the suspension... seems tighter & feels like driving a brand new vehicle. Total wait was about 6 weeks & Lexus of Colorado Springs did a great job. Glad to see so many people getting the fix & glad to know I found out about it here on CL Forums.

Happy Holidays Lexus fans.

First got the clunk 6 months ago at about 15,000 miles. They lubed the driveshaft and did something with the splines. Today my wife says it's back again.

We've got our service appt next Thursday. I will make sure I tell them about the new TSB.

Sorry in advance for not fully searching... negotiating now on a leftover 2006. Can anyone tell me when the clunk changes were included in production? I see Silver Lady has the problem on a 2006.... was wondering if the changes were included during the 2006 model year and if so, when? Thanks in advance.

Of course, if you look at the next post after that one, you'll see that I have an April build GX, and it had the thump... go figure!

I believe it was around April 06 when the clunk changes were included in production.

Just had mine in for a couple things including the clunk - they ordered all the parts but apparently they are on back order for a while!

Took the GX in today and mentioned the TSB. I got a call this afternoon saying that parts were ordered and will be here tomorrow. I'm supposed to get it back by the end of tomorrow.

I'll let everyone know what they ended up replacing.
