Question Is a bolt missing?

We had crazy weather today -low 70's! I washed the GX myself, then decided to check the oil and add windsheild wash. I noticed the following set of threaded bolt holes near the front of the engine (one of the few places that is not covered with plastic covers and stuff).

The unfilled hole is threaded. Is it supposed to be empty or has a bolt slipped out (it looked pretty clean). Thanks.

Perfectly normal to find empty threaded mountings. They make for multiple applications of the same parts. The key is the threads are unused and clean.

Tammy - I guess you are right - just odd seeing that hole there!
Thanks.

SilverLady, I took Tammy's comment the other way. The threads are clean, meaning something must have been threaded in there, and recently came out.

Anyway, I just went out and looked at my '05, it's the same as your pics. Nothing in that threaded hole.

Thanks for checking, Loflin! It would be a strange coincidence if they left them out of two vehicles!

Man, that engine is so clean it would be impossible to tell if a bolt fell out or not!

There are many, many blank holes and empty threaded holes, brackets and clips... it is a body that shares many stampings and parts from the Prado body and i-force V8.
As such, there are provisions for various engines and platforms in the body and engine.
