Don't know about something to deflect bugs off the windshield, but I use this stuff on the nose of the truck and it makes getting them off much easier.

Just wanted to share. Only 3 hours of driving to kill all those bugs.

Wow. If I didn't know any better, I would have thought the windshield of your GX was in some type of paintball fight. What a mess. I guess we all know what you'll be doing Sunday.

Have heard spraying Pam on front end prior to road trip also works. Will be driving my new vette from Dallas to FL next month. Have to go through bug country (LA, Miss and Alabama) and will try it.

WOW! Sub, what did you do, drive through a storm of LOCUST???????
That said, I picked up a bottle of BUG off from the local auto parts store, about 16 fluid oz. I might just have to send you a crate of this!!!!

I had a few bugs this weekend and I quickly QUICKLY sprayed this stuff over the "hits" so that it wouldn't "eat" into the paint. Does hosing down the ENTIRE front of your car for about 15 ~ 30 minutes at least get off the majority of this goo? ;(

Hope everything works out...

Default RejeX

Quite a few of the folks on the aircraft forums use RejeX (http://www.corrosionx.com/rejex.html). I know it works well on my windshield; most folks use it on their autos as well as all over their motorcycles. It must be applied and cured as directed.

Default Update on Griot's Bug-off

I've had it on the truck for a little over a week. For less than $6 a bottle, I thought it couldn't hurt. The instructions say to spray it on 'evenly' and let dry. You can't get it even without a little help from a cloth. I applied two coats to the nose and when dry, you can tell nothing is there, just has a slightly different feel.

I tested it out today on a recent gangle of bugs. It would as I would expect a $6 bottle to work. I was able to just squirt 99% off with no residue on the paint (and no damage). There were a few that needed a bit more work, but overall it seemed to work. Best of all, it is 'paint friendly' - I am not sure what Pam does to your paint, but this stuff seems to do okay and comes off in the wash.
