Went to my dealer on Wednesday night for a "new owners" night. Very nicely done; big turn out and good food. All the managers were there as well as the owner.
Asked the service manager about installing a tow package on KDSS. He had just received a Lexus bulletin (showed me the printout but wouldn't let me take a copy) stating that KDSS models built in April 2004 and after could have a factory installed tow package. Also stated that replacement tow packages for KDSS models would only be available to vehicles with VINs with a build date of April or after. Could not be retrofitted to "older" KDSS models.
Not that I want to sell my GX, but that certainly screws those of us who have a KDSS model built before April. The service manager said that aftermarket hitches of 3,000lb capacity were no problem which is fine for me (don't need to tow a boat or horses). Recommended Valley tow hitches (never heard of them).
