Unfortunately, my GX 470 that is due in at the end of this month will not have the tow package as I had requested. In fact, the dealership got in another GX 470 with NAV/LEV (originally requested) and third-row seating (did not originally request). However, they were willing to wheel and deal, so I decided to get the third-row seating, NAV/LEV, minus the tow package.

Does anyone know if Lexus or an after-market company is retro-fitting the GX 470 with the tow package? If so, can anyone provide me a link.

It appears the factor installed tow receiver is a limited time offer. This according to spec details on the lexus website.

"The factory-installed hitch receiver in the bumper should only be used with weight-carrying hitch hardware, not weight-distributing hitch hardware, and has a maximum tow rating of 5,000 lbs. The dealer-installed hitch receiver mounted below the bumper (available early 2003) has a maximum tow rating of 6,500 lbs. ....... Factory tow hitch not available once the dealer-installed optional tow-hitch receiver becomes available"

OTH, if you can't wait then this may not be a suitable option for you.
