Default Checking rear brake pads without removing tires

Guys, is it possible to check rear brake pads using brake pad gauge without removing the tires? The front ones are possible. Doesn't seem possible for the rear.
What do you guys recommend? These tires are heavy...

Interesting.
I think it depends on your wheels. I don't have the factory wheels anymore so I'm not a good test.
