Another Window Issue
Been sometime since I posted here. I'm sure there are several post related to windows but I haven't found an issue like mine. 2004 GX470...the master driver side window switch will lower/raise the driver window, however when pressing the passenger window button, the passenger front and rear passenger windows will go up and down simultaneously respectfully. Niether rear window buttons will work from the master switch. All the windows will go up and down respectfully from pushing each individual window switch. I have replaced the master switch with an after market and OEM part with the same results. I tried every window reprogramming I could find. I have moved around the fuses with no identifiable bad fuse. Is there a master window switch relay that could be the issue? Thx!
The window switches are connected via the data bus to the body ECU and don't have direct wiring between them.
I would first try doing a computer reset by disconnecting the battery for 2 minutes, then reconnecting it.
You will have to reset the limit switches on the windows & sunroof, set the seat memory and the radio presets afterwards.
Also - what happens when you use the remote to lower the windows? The door control receiver also talks to the body ECU.
Unlock the doors (two presses) then press and hold the unlock button. All four windows and the sunroof should open.
Do you have any dash lights on? The data bus goes to the sub-body ECU (part of the SRS/AirBag system) after leaving the driver's door switch.
If you decide to replace the body ECU, use your VIN to search for the correct part number as Lexus makes running changes during production. So you can't go by model year alone.
Amayama.co.jp is a good place to do this. You have a decent chance to get new-old-stock there, and not someone else's problem (no guarantees!)

Thanks for the quick response! Yes I've tried disconnecting the battery and every other reprogramming method I could find. When lowering the windows with the key...only the passenger windows will lower. The driver window and moonroof will not open. The door locks function normally when pressing the key buttons and the master switch. I just replace my dashboard (myself) so the battery was even disconnected for a day...same issues. No dash lights! I'm at 226K and I keep this maintained at the Lexus dealership. The last service was about 2/3 months back. Everything is fine except the windows. Thx. Will look into the ECU as the culprit.
