I have a transmission problem on my 06gs430. I ended up buying a 6speed trans from a ls430. This is a jdm low miles trans from japan. I wanted to know if it's all the same as for 06-up ls430, sc430 and 06-07gs430 six speed. Are the gear shifter, sensor on the trans the same for all?
Before I install this without transfering anything with torque convertor and all the sensors, is it the same? I checked the part number and they are different. I put them side by side and the only thing different is the breather tube is alittle different. In need of some expert advice before I start to install this. I really need some informations whether I need to transfer some parts over or just installing this without. The jdm place where I bought this said it was the same for all, but want to make sure first.
Please help!
If it's different, would seriously like to know whats different. I checked online and 2006-up share the same trans. The gearing is the same too. Some of these used jdm engine and trans shop that are selling these 6 speed trans, are stated that it's used for 06-up gs430, ls430 and the sc430. I seriously would like to gets some correct answers.
Need expert advice.
Wow! Still no correct answers? This is getting really frustrating. I wonder why lexus did it this way even tho the trans name is the same, even the gear ratio is the same even for that matter. Maybe it really fits and functions, but don't want us to interchange?? Man, this really sucks! I have already bolted down the trans to my engine already, pretty much 80% done with all this. The sensor plugs and pin count are same and plugged right in. The only thing that was alittle different was the breathe tube on top, but I just switched it out. Also, the trans mount that came with was different. Those were the only things that were different as far as what I saw. I seriously need some answers quick.
I say go for it...same model number...its made by Aisin...same carry over from the LS430 to the GS...
Thanks for the info, but where did u get the info? Why is the gs430 trans cost $100 some what dollars more then the ls430 and sc430? I checked online lexus parts dealer and that's what I saw.
I need this to be 100% positive before I finish up the 20% that I still have left over to finish.
The gs430 , ls430 and the sc430 transmission is a A761E six speed trans. This is what I saw from online where they explain about toyota transmissions. This site does not specify what the difference is, since there are some conflicting answers. Some salvage yards say it's the same, but some say not. Which is the damn truth to this?
None of these places where they say it' won't work cannot explain to me why it does not work. WTF?
I'm in a freeze mode right now until I get some solid explanation to all this.
Thank you very much for the info Gotcha350!
With all the confusion whether if it will work or not, I got everything installed and it all worked, but still have the issues why I replaced the trans in the fist place. This fxcken sucks big time!! WTF!!! Could it be my diff?
My issues on my other posts was that I developed a clunk/jerk when coming to a stop. When Im about to come to a stop, I put the gear in neutral and it does not happen. I have tested it stepping on the brakes gently and still happens. It has a small jerk/clunk followed by a slightly bigger clunk. What the hell could it be? Could it be my ecu holding the 2nd longer then the usual? I'm fxcken stumped on this!
When I was doing my trans swap, I checked the center support bearing mount for the drive shaft and saw no issues. I saw someone else's post with similar issues and still was not fixed after transmission replacement. This was from the dealer that did it too from this person's post. The dealer said to replace the ecu, but he did not post after that. I have no clue whether it got fixed or not from that person, I would really like to know what was the cause of this. This is a fxcken mystery!!
I am guessing worn suspension part. Probably front lower ball joint but it could be any articulating suspension joint. A differential tends to make noise when you accelerate. But since there is no noise when braking and in neutral I may be wrong. Did you check motor mounts and transmission mounts?
Diferential bushings?
You are not clear does it happen in neutral when stopping with the brakes? I think you said no if the answer is no check motor tranny mounts?
