Default 2001 GS300 dash noise

I have a noise coming from the dash that sounds like a low speed fan. It is only noticable when at idle and with your foot on the brake. It does not go away when I turn the entire heating and a/c system off. Its driving me nuts!
Any ideas?

I've noticed too on my 2k GS 3 sounds like there's something crawling in there, my Mechanic told me that it is the cabin air recirculation system and that I should change the cabin air filter, I checked it today and it's filthy I will change it tomorrow and keep you posted.

I changed the cabin filter and the noise is gone.

um if its a servo, just changing the air filer wont fiox it. mine happened when i first bought it.. then went away then a few months l8r came back....

im currently tryin to get a a/c box to install this winter as i think the gears on mine are worn out

i actually replaced temp servo , week later mode servo started making noise , i didn't want to pay over $100 for new one so i open it ,clean the grease off the pins and bent the pins so there is more tension . 2 weeks and counting with no noise.

its temporary...i tried this also. it will be back. but re-greasing it actually seems to help for a minute

i had a similar problem on my 05, it was driving me nuts. removed the glove, and the cd changer. started the car and found what was "squeaking." the slide guide that moves the ac vents towards the front windshield was stuck. a little grease, and a few months later, still good. good luck with yours.
