Since this thread was resurrected, I will post a button mounting location update. For those wanting an accessible location and dont mind a little modification, check this out:
On my car, this button module was hollow on the right (empty side). I made a hole just large enough to fit the button wire then stuck on the button to the front. This is what it looks like:
For those interested in doing this, this module is held in by 2 metal clips on each side and from my experience, they needed to be squeezed from behind to get the module out. I popped out the panels on the left side of the dash to squeeze in behind it.

That looks really good. Was there a reason you didn't use the existing blank in the bottom right? And how did you end up doing the camera mounting bracket? Did you drill and tap somewhere for a bolt or did you find an existing location to mount to?

That blank on the bottom right, is not really a blank. Its a double switch that happens to be used for a single switch. Not sure why Lexus didnt just pop a full sized switch in there.
Camera mounting leaves alot of room for creativity. I essentially did the same mounting as Bullets Garage:

I have the beatsonic car play / android unit already installed on my car. is the beatsonic camera just plug n play?
Basically. The standard installation does include some modification on the car side. The usual is to screw into the front bumper support to mount a bracket and also to cut a bit into the grille to tuck the camera away. I didn't want to modify the car so made some changes on install.
I had BeatSonic's local collab, AT230, do the camera when BeatSonic did my carplay install. I had them use VHB 4611 high temp tape to mount the bracket instead of screwing it to the car. Because I run a front plate, which means a lower camera that would catch more of the lip if it was mounted in the grille, they had the camera in front of the bumper such that they didn't need to cut the grille either. It sticks out but I barely notice it under the front plate and it's all black anyways. Unless you looked for it, most would never notice.
Thanks. i watched some videos on how do do this install and i have the bumper off of my car right now for some repairs so it makes sense for me to do this right now. Any discount codes on that beatsonic unit?
The button is not plug and play. The original button has a small circuit the unit communicates with. It measures voltage from the switch to figure out the mode. I ended up soldering into the circuit of the original switch to feed the Lexus switch.
Lexus Switch Wires
- Green + Light feed - connect to old switch LED positive
- Brown - Light feed - connect to old switch LED negative
- White / Gray (closed circuit switch) connect to the button on the old switch
The modification won't take more than 20 min and it won't cost any extra $$.
Not sure if you're still around but I looked at the same blank button and there are wires that plugged into it. What did you do with them?
I just have my button stickied near my right leg near the park brake for now...

I finally made the time to design a custom PCB for the Lexus switch. The new board is designed to the exact dimensions of the OEM board, so you just need to swap it out inside the switch housing. It is designed to work directly with the Beat Sonic Camera wiring.
As you can see below, the board has 2 LEDs: one for the camera functions (including blink features) and one for the 12V night light/illumination, so you get a consistent light that matches the other buttons.
I installed it back in my car, and so far it works great. I have 3 extra boards if anyone is interested in this project.
