Default HPS Silicone Intake Dyno

So I’ve been basically dyno’ing my car every time I add a mod to it. The first dyno which was posted on this forum in a different thread was my stock baseline. I then dyno’d the car after adding a catback exhaust. Which was the previous run file on this dyno. But I’ll post the overlay here too:

Adding just the silicone intake elbow since the last dyno gained me +3whp & +10wtq. Which I was surprised by because I was just hoping that it didn’t lose any whp over the stock elbow since most people say elbows don’t actually add power.

Saw this on the FB. Definitely some nice gains in the mid-range for such a simple mod. Nice job.

That's great power for such a simple mod! Thanks for testing.

Thanks for the info. I'm still trying to decide on an intake. I may just leave it stock.

Were these back to back runs ? If not, any changes in conditions ?

Curious if you used the ISF version on their website: https://hpsperformanceproducts.com/c...air-intake-kit

I don't see a GSF version

I’d like to see how this engine reacts to ethanol without a tune. Anyone have any experience? E30 sounds tempting with this heat.

Wow this blows my mind! Thanks for sharing. Might get one myself.

question: did it change the engine note at all? Since it is just an elbow

i did not feel any change in my engine note, but I do have headers and full exhaust system, so it might be because of my setup.

The pipe itself won’t make a difference in induction note that you’ll be able to hear in the car. Getting a cone element filter would though.
