Default Chirping noise from engine.

I was wondering if someone could help me out, and maybe point me in the right direction. I have taken my car into my local Lexus dealership 2 times now for this issue and they are saying its normal, i have a hard time believing a new gs-f would make this noise. It is making a Chirping noise when the vehicle is in idle. This is when stopped, i can also go through the gears N,R,D and it will still make the noise. It isn't until i give it a little gas and take the RPM's up a little it goes away. I have attached a video so you guys can see what i am talking about.
Also what should i do since my local dealership seems to not want to fix this? he told me it was the belt just stretching in the cold, but i thought it would stop once the car is warm if that's the case. Just didn't want to be stuck paying for this with warranty coming to a end in a few months.

High pressure fuel pumps. The o rings are not getting lubricated correctly. Lexus says it's normal. I use Chevron gas and that helps a bit. I also used Lucas fuel cleaner that also helped. I read that a fuel pump cover from a ls400 can mute the chirping but I haven't tried that yet.

Mine doesn't ever do this and I run grocery store fuel. Nothing special. What o-rings are you talking about? Inside the fuel pumps? That would lead to deteriorated seals pretty quickly resulting in clogged direct injectors in short order.

yeah, i thought it was a bit strange but figured just maybe. I feel like its the alternator from my view of it. Do you suggest taking it to a different dealer?

Yes inside the high pressure fuel pump. This has been an issue across Toyota for about 8 years. Just Google " chirping fuel pumps toyota". One of the threads has a better explanation but I can't find it at the moment. Something about the design and ethanol. Most have just embraced the cricket noise. Some have had their pumps replaced but eventually the noise came back. Like I said try Chevron or Lucas fuel system lubricant/cleaner and let me know if it helped mute the sound.

I replaced fuel pump and went away and then weird sound came up again and did ECM reflash and it's good so far.

It might happen later but I don't hear this chirping noise atm.

Did you do both of the fuel pump recall service and ECM reflash recall service from the dealer already?

There is a TSB for the 2GR in the Tacoma, Camry, Highlander and Sienna, but none for any 2UR engines (GS F, IS F, RC F, LC500). Strange. You'd think it would be across the board.

I have the exact same issue and took mine into the dealer as well. The service rep confirmed he heard it too but after they took it in and I got it back they stated "could not duplicate the issue" of course

I'll try Chevron gas as stated and see if that does anything next fill up. I am glad to hear it's not just me lol

I'll try that also but pretty positive i have. i normally run costco gas. Maybe ill try a second dealership for their opinion, mine has just been okay. The noise can be very annoying. i cant believe others are fine with it.

Just to follow up... I did a full tank of Chevron good ole Cali 91 and I'm not sure if it's a placebo effect, but I'd say I noticed a 25% reduction in chirping noise.

Hey what did you figure out with this eventually? Did the sound go away? If so how? Just bought a 2016 RX 350 and started noticing this noise. Super annoying and would love to get it fixed.

There is very little in common between the GS F and the RX 350 (or any other RX). You should try the RX forums for better advice.

Ahh watch this vid. There is a link to the TSB in the vid. It's the same issue as the GS F too, the fuel pump. Hopefully Chevron fixes your issue.

This is exactly the noise I’ve been experiencing! Thanks for sharing this. I’ve been using Top Tier Costco 87 (manual recommends 87). But from the comments on the video it seems like Costco is also not the right gas. Chevron it is (as you said). Only problem is that I’m in Minnesota and we don’t have any Chevrons here..
