Default Midpipe and CEL

Guys,
Does upgrading to an after market Midpipe trigger CEL? I heard from one person that it doesn't and only triggers if you install headers.
Can someone with personal knowledge provide me with a right answer? This is installing Midpipe only.

Thank you.

I speak from experience. First I installed Novel headers only. Utilized a mechanical O2 simulator. No CEL. Than I installed a Meistershaft Mid pipe utilizing the same mechanical O2 sims. No cel. The mechanical sims can be bought on Amazon for 25 bucks. Let me know if you have any more questions.

Great. Can you tell me which O2 sims I should purchase? I want to purchase one from Amazon asap and just need to know which one in detail. Thank you again.

Thank you very much. Just purchased.

Just to be clear if I'm going to install aftermarket Headers and Midpipe then I will require two of these CEL eliminators? Otherwise, one is enough for just Midpipe only?

Thanks again.

So the O2 sensors for the headers do not need the mechanical sim. . These go in the midpipe only. You will need 2 only.

Ok, just to make sure, if I was going to install the mid-pipe only, and with proper installation, is the O2 simulator needed?

What does "proper" and "improper installation" of a mid-pipe mean, in terms of a CEL, as seems preety straight forward?
