Dealership joyride?
Maybe I'm overthinking it or could be wrong, but I took my F in for scheduled oil change and I had recently filled up and as always I reset the trip A odometer. Car had 31.4 miles on it when I dropped it off. When I got in the car, the trip A was reset and had 3.1 miles on it? Do they take it around after service for any normal reasons I'm not aware of? Sorry for the silly question, just seemed odd when just was only getting oil changed.

Not an answer to why they would drive any further than through the car wash but the Navigation
has a useful tool for monitoring valet parkers and mechanics. In "Show on Map" or "Options/Map Info"
(depending on generation) find "Route Trace". Click it on and the red and white dots will define the
driving habits of those you have reluctantly surrendered your keys to. A stretch of widely spaced dots
leading to the local discount liquor store will tell the tale! Even if they see the evidence unfolding and
delete it, you may then ask if your car was parked right up front where you left it?

I always take note of how many miles my car went in with. They usually will take it out for a drive to test things. I usually turn on alerts in Enform Remote so I receive alerts if they exceed a certain speed or go outside my set radius. Take a look at your paperwork and you can see how many miles were driven. Anything more than 5 miles I would mention it to the manager.

My dealership already notes the miles when I first pull in, that's what ends up in the report so then can just compare.
I'd recommend a dash cam not just for when other people are driving your car, but you never know when it will save you from some trouble. (Paid about $50 or so for mine, neighborhood gate closed on my case causing damage, hoa tried to just say had to be my fault for trying to exit with gate in motion, but then I showed them the video, car fixed on their dime ~$1500)
