Considering the GS-F, have read and watched all the reviews and seems a good fit for what I am looking for at this time. I am coming from an E63s, which while being a great car had a few warranty issues and overall service is quite high on these.

Wanted to know of any common issues with this model and what can I expect for maintenance for this? What are the intervals? any difference between the 16s and 17s?

 

Barely any issues, none that I know of.

Maintenance, simple brakes, oil, tires, etc. Nothing crazy. Still a brand new car.

The drivetrain is pretty solid. The 8-speed and 5.0 V8 is tried and true. I strongly doubt anything major will happen with the expensive parts.

I had to take it in for minor issues - a overly shaky driver side mirror, a soft buzz, and my steering wheel came with a cut in the leather

 

Had to have my secondary fuel pump re-flashed at 8k miles due to the pressure/hum sound. Other than that, no issues.

 

6 months of ownership here. I've had no issues and i'm at 3k miles. Haven't heard of any major issues from other owners. Engine and transmission is pretty solid. Even though the GSF is new, engine and tranny is the same as the RCF which has been out since 15. There's a fuel pump TSB on the RCFs, but none on the GSF.

The only difference between 16 and 17 is that the 17's come with adaptive dampers.

One year and 15,000 miles in haven't had any problems....I hear the whirling sound from underneath from time to time , fuel pump I believe, prolly get them to take care of it at the oil change that's now due...

 

im curious as what brand of fuel you pump in the car?

 

spend 10k in exhauast and 10k in supercharger and another 7k in bodykit. 3k in brake, you ll get the best 4 door ever

 

Woaaaaah snap.. I love this car, but i guess it is boring to many. But i also love E63's and they are considered "boring".

Four doors, kid seats in the back, heaps of room, COMFORTABLE, V8. Thats a winning recipe for me.

Having said that, i dont think ill ever sell the ISF, very special car. Long term plan is to now supercharge it and drive it less frequently. Fingers crossed the financial controller allows for a GSF to be "boring" in day to day!

given that someone can negotiate 20k off msrp of 88k, with all the listed mods the total would be around 98k. Why not just skip the bs and get an E63s or cts v or m5 to achieve everything and still have FULL WARRANTY?? Forget it if someone paid full GSF sticker price

Its pretty sad when 30k is needed and void warranty just to keep up with the competitors in the same class

 

I've had mine for a bit shy of 1yr with NO issues whatsoever. I recently switched over to it as my DD and I couldnt be happier. I've had many AMGs (7 to be exact) and the GSF serves the purpose wonderfully.

 

technically you would only need 10k for the supercharger.

 

Not at all true. '16 GS Fs have the same ECM update for the fuel pump noise.
