Default Transmission Slip

I have had my GS for a few months now and about a week ago noticed the transmission slip shifting from 1-2 and 3-4 leaving the house EVERY morning. It would only do this first thing in the morning, the rest of the day is fine. I took it to the dealer yesterday and dropped it off. They called me a little later to tell me that nothing is wrong they test drove and it didn't slip. I told them it only slips first thing in the morning. They called back today and said it is normal for it to slip when cold. Unfortunately the next closest dealer is 150 miles away. Any advice on how to proceed? UPDATE: The dealership just called back and wants me to bring it back when the Lexus field technician is available to take a look. Maybe he will have some incite.

I also noticed a little bit of a slip from 1st to second. not third to 4th. I notice it more in manual mode. and that the tranny is a little jerk in stop and go traffic. Im not too concerned because my previous car 2014 is350 fsport was also jerky in traffic. maybe its a lexus thing?

Mine suddenly appeared and seems to be getting worse which is why I am concerned. My first thought was it is low on transmission fluid and I was going to check it but there is no dipstick. The dealer told be there is a site glass that indicates if it is at the correct level.

That's complete BS. There is nothing to indicate level on the AA80E. There is a procedure to set the level, but no dipstick, no sight glass, or any other external device for evaluating whether the fluid level is right or not. Your first thought is correct. The level is low, and I'd bet a year's salary on it.

No, it isn't normal at all, and if you check the IS F forum you'll find a wealth of information about the AA80E and what happens when the fluid level is low. The transmission NEVER flares when the level is correct, and flares like an evil witch when it is low. AMHIK.

He said "AMHIK" , so I decided to ask to keep the conversation going. I don't see what about that makes me funny?

If your dealer said there is a sight glass he is either thick as a brick or a bs artist. Lobux is a guru on these boxes.

Was referring to when the car and trans is cold. I am well aware of the low level tendencies as well.

So was I. I get no flare even on a little low level (<8 oz short) with the transmission at normal operating temperature. When it is cold and the level is low it flares. When it is cold and the level is correct, it does not flare. True for both IS F and GS F.

Gotcha. First that I have read that newer trans having low levels from the factory or low mileage.
