Default GSF Brake Squeal

Has anyone experiencing the GSF brake squeal replaced the brake pads with alternative material offered as a service part by Lexus? Full warranty item.

As as I understand, the alternative material can hinder braking and performance

mine are squeking! I'm at 2,400 miles. There's no way it requires a brake pad change already...not sure what the problem is.

Are the noises you guys are hearing front or rear or both? I noticed a slight squeal in the right-rear when I first brought it home and chalked it up to break-in but have not listened with the windows down since I put on several hundred miles. Will check.

Hi Guys, I'm new to the forums but I'm on IG & FB, same username. Hello all!

I'd like to comment on the brakes squealing...mine started like 500 miles in and to this day, 1500 miles it still squeals. I even hear it when in sport + mode and start letting the car slow down by itself down shifting, it squeals then as well. I text my rep @ Lexus and her response was "We get that a lot when we sell our performance vehicles. The RCF AND GSF have "special performance brakes" that will squeak. No worries, that is normal and nothing to worry about"

...yeah, but it's ****en annoying! Pulling up to a nice place with your fancy smancy car only to have your brakes sound like **** is a little embarrassing let alone the annoying sound it makes.

If it continues I will take it back..

brembo BIG BRAKE KITS are known to make a little noise. Most of them are caused from brake dust/moisture
Perfectly normal. You sacrifice braking distance if you change the pads to the alternative.

** my project mu race BBK'S were 10x worse, sounded liike a school bus stopping **

^^^^I disagree. I have Ferodo DS2500 in front and PM +800 in back. Properly bedded in - Absolutely NO Noise and tremendous stopping power.

BTW, stopping distance is more a function of the tires than the pads. Hi-Po pads resist heat, don't fade and have an aggressive feel.

Yea I got the squeaking about 1k miles. Changed to the update alternative pad and bam squeaking gone. Brakes don't feel any different. I'm not tracking mine. And even on spirited drives it still stops on the dime with the alternative. I would rather not have my 80k+ car sound like a school bus stopping.

Is there a TSB/TSIB for brake pads replacement for 2016 GS-F like what they offered on the IS-F?
