Default 2017 gs f

I just happened to check the Lexus USA website today and see the starting price has dropped to $500 to $83,940 for the 2017 MY.
Two options for wheels now. One is hand polished, the other isn't. No more Nebula Grey available. Smokey Granite Mica is in.
There might be more changes, but that's all I see.

I was hoping it would get body matched or cf mirrors.

For 2017, Lexus added F-Adaptive Variable Suspension for the GS-F. It's integrated with TVD and different drive modes. It has about 30 different damping settings to chose from. Color Heads-Up Display is now a stand-alone option. The 16 standard wheel is now an option for the 17.
No major changes and none of the things I wanted were included for 2017 MY (rear sunshade, rear side-window sunshade, auto trunk closer button and etc.). I'm glad I picked up a 16 for a great price.

This is kind of a big deal. Details on the 30 settings and the suspension setup from Lexus.com:

"Allowing the driver to harness the engine's power and communicate with the pavement like never before, an all-new F-Adaptive Variable Suspension featuring 30 levels of damping can stiffen for enhanced response based on the selected drive mode. The first-ever linear-solenoid monotube shocks not only improve body roll and stability when cornering, but also offer improved ride quality. With a motorsport-derived design, the system switches damping force four times faster than previous AVS systems, ensuring the driver has unprecedented levels of control."

The 16 standard wheel is now an option for the 17.
So what does the new for 17 standard wheel look like?

Tried searching Lexus.com but didn't find any pictures

To me, the AVS is big deal if you do spirited driving often with your car. I had a 2013 GS F-Sports with AVS (I know the GS-F version will be much better) and I did feel the difference when I drove it hard, but I'm at a stage of my life where I no longer feel the need to outrun every car that I see on the street.

I do give Lexus credit for putting focus on further improving the handling and stability of this car just like what they did with the IS-F. As for the wheels, the only difference is the standard wheel is not hand polished while the option one is. You can see it for yourself.

Option for 17 (Standard for 16)

Standard for 17

Thanks! I actually prefer the standard (dark) wheels. Let's see how hard they are to come by in the wild.

As for the AVS, it's for the daily commuting that it will come in handy, when you want the softer setting.

Interesting. I think I'll drive my 16 to the dealership and test drive the 17 so I can tell if there's a difference in ride quality once it's out.

Yes indeed. Would be great to get seat of the pants impression of the difference from someone who has a '16
