Default Spare tire

Could anyone who bought a gs f tell me what happens if you get a flat tire. I'm under the impression it has summer tires not run-flats,with no spare. You can't find the Michelins in stock. I'm very interested in this car but don't want to get stuck. FYI Lexus of Orlando have them in stock 12,000 off before even talking. Thanks

Tire repair kit with goo and pump. Temporarily makes the tire drivable but makes it non fixable. Same with the rcf

I buy road hazard warranty with all my tires

Michelin 19's in the weird Lexus staggered sizes are hard to get. I had to wait a week for my GS F Sport to get a set of Super Sports, so Discount Tire could cobble an order together from 2 different states. If you're gonna get tires, think ahead.

A lot of people carry a pump and a plug kit. They'll plug their own tire and cautiously get the vehicle to a shop to repair it correctly.

The goo works, but some people say it's bad for the wheels. Not sure how true that is, just read it a few times.

I hated that for my old GS F Sport... tires for that car were more expensive than on my Corvette!

The stock tire on the car seem to have weak side walls. I hit a 2" deep pothole on the highway at 60mph and the sidewall gave out. Lossed pressure to 17psi until I was able to pull over 45 seconds afterwards. Luckily no damage to the wheel. The car was towed to the dealer and they are putting on a new tire. New tire is $350 installed at Lexus of Silver Spring.

I had a G35 coupe and put 162K miles on it, driving to Baltimore City and DC suburbs on a regular basis and never had any tire issues. They were Bridgestone RE050A I believe. They were no were near as sticky but had stronger side walls.

I had mine refitted with Michelin all season tires prior to delivery. Cost me $700 to swap them out at the dealership.

I got a flat on Monday. Hit a pothole and the passenger front had a 2" gash on the sidewall. I've never all a tire sidewall give out like in any of my cars with low profile tires. I wanted to prevent using the "goo" since I've read it makes your TPMS useless. I used a 12V cigarette air compressor to re-inflate the tire and found that the tire will not hold air more than 1 minute of driving time. Since I had no spare, I had the car towed to the dealer for a OE replacement. The tire was delivered and installed the next day. I looked into getting a spare but it eats up a lot of trunk space so I just carry an extra compressor (outside of the one that comes with the car) in the trunk.

In all instances except this one, I generally had a nail in the tire and was able to re-inflate the tire, run all my scheduled errands and come home to plug it with the Slime brand plug kit. I've plugged a tire once and drove it another 45K miles with no issues.

FYI: I have managed to get Silver Spring Lexus to price-match with tirerack, saved me about $100 per tire for my IS-F, i've since traded for a GS-F and hopefully they'll continue doing that.
