Default Any recommendations for speaker upgrades

Hi all, I put Focal components in the front to replace the dash and door speakers, but they sound terrible now. I might just put the stock back in. I thought the ML sound system was only ok, and wanted to give it a bit more sparkle, but the Focals sound really weak and uninspiring. They probably need more power, and are probably getting the wrong frequencies from the head unit. I didn't use the Focal crossovers.

Has anyone been successful in improving the sound on the GS F?

Stock amp can’t drive those Focals right. No crossovers = bad sound. Either add a DSP and amp them properly, or go back to stock ML speakers and add a powered sub. That’s the simple fix.

The Focals have been installed in many GS's with the ML. Everyone loves them. Likely there is something wrong with the install and/or the wrong model Focals you have.

Also the ML can drive them just fine. What lots don't know is the the ML Amp output has been measured at just under 70watts for the Fronts.

I got Focal K2 components. I didn't use the crossovers, so they are just getting the signal directly from the ML amp. Also, they are 2 ohm speakers, which could be troublesome with our ML amp?

What model Focals did you install in your GS F?

This one thread, 17 GSF ML Mark Levinson with upgraded FOCAL Speakers - ClubLexus - Lexus Forum Discussion, used the KRX2 components.

Another thread shows the 165KX2. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...l#post10169572
