Default Pass state inspections with PPE Headers and Invidia Catback?

Hi All,

I recently purchased my 2017 GSF (actually from this forum!) And it has the PPE headers and Invidia catback installed on it. The issue I'm running into is that I have to pass inspections in Maryland. So I've been exploring possibly welding in cats into the catback since I do not want to touch the headers at all. Has anybody done this and what's the set up that you did? It seems to be either welding in cats, or finding someone that's "flexible" (which I do not know anybody) or reinstall the OEM headers...

Not sure if this helps but I was running my PPE headers, Invidia Midpipe, Invidia Exhaust with no cats here in MA & we have some a pretty strict emissions state inspections & I no problem passing inspection, ***** my problem was the tint...
Other option find a cool inspection shop in your state, ive travelled 10-20 towns over for tint to get the J O B done for the last 20 something yrs my friend & I always got my inspection sticker!!

Hope that kinda helps & Good luck!!

Damn. Ya that would be ideal but I just don't know anybody that could do that for me in MD nor do I even know where to look😅. I'm sure MA is probably a little bit more strict than here in MD.

You got the gsf before I could. I had the same issue with my RR racing tune ISF I'm also in MD. Some muffler shops typically can point you in the right direction if you explain your problem iykyk lol

I think I know your car…the white one?! She’s a beauty and CONGRATS! If you dig around the forum there have been some folks that welded in GESI cats into the mid-pipe. You wouldn’t have to mess with the headers. Those HF cats are not cheap but if you need to go that route for your inspection needs that seems to be a viable option.

yessir I love the thing . The previous owner sent me a post of people discussing that kind of install on a ISF, but I can't seem to find it for the GSF or RCF. Any pictures would be really helpful.

Yup, but the problem with that set up is they're going to fail me for only have secondary cats instead of primaries and also the O2 sensors are both ahead of the cats which means fails..

GsF owner in MD here. If it’s not giving CEL you can just take it to the kiosk. Those are 24hrs, so it makes it very convenient. If you have a CEL get a tune. You’ll get an increase in performance and no CEL…WIN! WIN!
