Default GSF Purchase two options

Looking to purchase a GSF, sale is private party. I currently have two 2016 specs to select from, neither is my ideal exterior color choice, my ideal color is USB. Since I haven't been able to find a low mileage USB example I am considering the listed since they are extremely clean and low mileage. My question is pricing based on current market and outlook, are these priced high, fair, good? Would you wait until to find ideal color, in my case USB?

White with black interior, 30k miles priced around $53k, 2 owners, clean title history, has aftermarket wheels, but sale would come with OEM wheels.
Caviar with red interior, 12k miles priced around $58k, 1 owner, clean title history, Tom's carbon fiber all the way around.

Me responding... huh? not following you.. delivery is tomorrow. I thought she was pranking me...go downstairs and OMG 1 day early delivery no warning or tracking from transport! Great surprise!!

The price you listed are slightly high in today market, price has come down recently. I would wait for the ideal spec you wanted as USB isn't a super rare color by any chancecompare to the Molten Pearl, Yellow and mate Nebular gray. Matador red is pretty few far in between.

Wait till you find the color you really want. USB is an amazing color.

Just my .02, but I find those prices to be fair. Especially considering the aftermarket parts.

What is your budget? Do these two options fall within where you want to spend? If your budget can be stretched and you can wait, I’d look around until USB comes available (even if it’s not 2016 model) if that’s a must-have color for you. Is there a preference on the interior color?

Between these two, I’d go with 12k miles simply because it’s 1-owner and lower mileage. $5k difference is a lot but if you plan to keep this car long and won’t drive as much, i think that difference is worth it. I do think low to high 50’s is a bit high for 2016 model.

Aftermarket (rims or kits) shouldn’t add much value to resale. It could help with the sell if you actually like what they’ve done but i wouldn’t consider paying ‘more’ because they come with it.

Good luck with your search!

baboya96 thanks for the input.

My budget is little over $60k for 2018+ USB on black with low miles. For a USB that is a 2016 or 2017 with under 30k miles my budget is $53k or $55k respectively. I am indifferent on the interior color. I plan on enjoying the car daily for the first year (ish), as I only drive on average about 6k per year.

I liked the white on black (not loved), if it had red interior I would have bought and not looked back.

The black on red attracted me b/c of the low miles and red interior. I have not owned a black car but hear it's impossible to keep clean as it is high maintenance. I want to enjoy the car and not stress about driving it.

Am I overthinking this here or are these legitimate difficult points?

I think you're spot on with price and interior color issue. Prefer red or carbon, black is a little plain. That said, if a mint low mileage one comes along with right color combo, I would expand your budget on a 16/17.

I don’t know the exact allocation # but in my experience, white/red color combo on GSF is the most common. At least when I was searching two years ago. But sounds like that’s ideal for you (After USB) so I’d jump on it if you find it.

As for caviar, you are correct. Black paint is hard to maintain. My wife’s LX570 is black on black and i basically gave up trying to keep that thing looking ‘clean’. That being said, if you prefer the red interior, I’d go with that. Being that it has low mileage and 1-owner is a plus.

I don’t have any experience with USB but I’d think keeping that color would also be difficult. Couldn’t be much worse than caviar. So save few $$$s and how with black/red combo.

I never had a black car. Maybe I’ll try one someday.
On my 2020 USB, I have full body PPF with ceramic coat. Any pollen, dust, and even some dirt can be wiped off with a wet towel pretty easily. You might see some micro scratches on the film but with a heat gun or under the sun, those micro scratches will heal themselves. It’s not cheap for the full body PPF. I paid 8k to get it done with the ceramic coating but it’s worth every penny if it’s the car you really want and want to keep. Being able to wipe the car off without worrying about scratches on the paint is really awesome. Even if you manage to damage the PPF, it can be replaced and the paint is untouched. I hope the price of PPF will come down(although the bulk of it is the labor). I would put it on all my vehicles as I hate to see my car dirty. Lol.

Also if I have to do it again today, I would highly consider negotiating this one. it’s black with white interior which is very rare and only 5k miles. I would get it and put full PPF on it and keep it forever. It’s not cheap, but it’s a rare color combo and a very rare vehicle. A good condition GSF is really a unicorn these days.

Is your interior is solid black or two tone seat? Also it is rare to see 2020 has black brake caliper.

Mine is just solid black interior. But with black brake caliper. I thought they went away with the orange calipers after 2018?

2020 is the year they replace orange brake caliper with blue, 2019 the blue caliper only available in the 10th anniversary edition. You got the best final touch/upgrade ever come to the GSF, such as black door pillar and side mirrors and all interior features.

Fully body wrap is laborious and use quite a bit of materials.
A full frontal(hood, quarter panel, front bumper) is already 2500-3000 here. Multiple that with 4 doors, trunk, roof, bumper, etc. and 8k all of a sudden sounds like a great deal.
