Default Considering a 2019 LS500

Im driving a 2020 Fsport AWD with 24,000 miles. Great car. Paid for. Mica Grey with black interior.
Values are still high for his model. I bought it new for just under $50,000 36 months ago for a $60,000 MSRP Long story really I have told before. World was different then. They could not give these cars away and to me it was this vs. a 3 BMW or A4 audi. No regrets.
Im trying to work a deal were I sell for 40k,, buy a 2019 LS500. Similar equipment. But add better leather, totally modern interior,, apple car play, message seats, and crazy 23 speaker ML system. 4 speakers in the microsuede headliner. My favorite color Atomic with Black interior. I think its the Luxury package. $88K msrp with now 27k miles. Warranty out in 4 months. Not sure i’d extend it. From reputable high end dealer, not certified by lexus. I can’t find one for 300 miles suitable from any dealer!!!!! Money aside, anyone have any experience with the 5th generation of LS500? Does not have adaptive suspension which really keeps my Fsport firm on the road. Not happy about runflats but they have improved over the years and I can always go without them and carry a kit.
“ QUILTED -STICH PERFORATED SEMI-ANILINE INTERIRO TRIM, 28-WAY POWER DRIVERS SEAT W/MULTIFUNCTION MASSAGE, ULTRASUEDE HEADLINER, PWR FRONT SEAT BUCKLES & HEATED REAR SEATS $3,730**MARK LEVINSON AUDIO SYSTEM WITH 23-SPEAKERS $1,940**PREMIUM WOOD TRIM $800**HEATED WOOD AND LEATHER-TRIMMED STEERING WHEEL $410**ILLUMINATED DOOR SILLS $399”.

Sure id rather it have HUD. Im ok with no Executive package as I am not going to roll in the back seat. My dog will. (I have a microfiber Orvis cover for him). Don’t need or want any more than what this car has.

Im being greedy here as I see the LS500 depreciated faster than my GS and wishing to monetize this now. I think the GS value surge is going to drop as will most cars. I might be trying to sell high and buy not so high. Why? These land cruisers like the LS might be a thing of the past. The Chinese market has driven (Pun intended) this area for a few years now and the Germans are the status symbol there. Not Japanese build. Lexus sedans are limited demand in Europe.

I dont’ have much experience with this 5th generation LS and will have one day to drive a few examples and decide quickly this weekend.
Its a big departure from the previous gen LS that catered to an older demographic and a formula that worked. Those cars are very well liked for their ride comfort and quality. This new version does not aim for the German sedan but goes in its own direction.

I've been considering LS as well but in no rush as I only have 145K on my 2013 LUX GS.
Look at the LS forums 2018-present to get a gauge of what owners have been reporting.
You will get far better intel than asking in GS forum.

Considered a few LS500h's myself but they were just not right for me for 1 reason or another.
I also would like LUX pkg for the premium seating/Massage and rather not have the executive package.

Used cars have been trending down from their peek about 15% and read that they can continue another 20% by end of 2023 because of interest rates and abundance of new cars hitting the market.

Patience is a virtue......

The shifting on the LS is not as smooth as the GS. You should test drive one really well before pulling the trigger.

THx.....I wanted a GS perspective than the LS. we all drink our own kool Aid about our cars.
The Exec package with the cut glass and pleated door panels are nuts!
Deal is pending on my target car. Car sits for 6 weeks (so said Carfax) and "BOOM", gone! I just started this two days ago and identified this one just yesterday.
It was 100 miles away.
No doubt I will test drive one or two before I pull trigger on any deal.
My AWD 6 speed is smooth. 10 likely has its quirks but doubt its a deal breaker.
I have read about "Turbo Lag" but I don' think thats it, the lag is likely in the software.
Not looking for the F sport in that model. They are rare and most are white with red/black interiors that in my opinion look out of place on the LS.

2020 I saw a fully loaded ls500h with Kiriko glass($20k+ option new), less than 5k miles, listed for $63k. The car was $120k new. That is a dream price now. When everything was shut down demand was low and there were great deals.

That Kiriko glass is insane: https://lexusenthusiast.com/2018/04/...ko-glass-trim/

I love reading and watching videos about the design & development of these unique items that Lexus incorporates in their top end vehicles. Similar to our bamboo steering wheels on the 4GSh - it's an intricate process to create & perfect; the more you learn about the details, the more you appreciate your vehicle/the work that went into it.

The LFA that was designed & developed 13 years ago has a massive amount of engineering and many things "first" time ever done. I hope Lexus continues to push to bring unique art, engineering, and manufacturing elements into their future vehicles; that's all huge product differentiation that their marketing teams should take full advantage to exploit.

Thanks for posting this. Im also smitten with this. The Naguri aluminum trim on my GS was a cool feature I took for granted until I got the car and looked it up.
Lexus with the LS in a way moved away from replicating the Teutonic gods of Europe and now stand to influence its own culture and expression even further. Im drinking this Kool aid and the “Kanso” (think fung shui) they are “crafting”.
Im not getting the glass or pleats. Those cars are often equiped with air suspension which Im staying away from. Im not getting a base car nor the executive package. ML, upgraded leather/.Seats, Wood wheel and a few small goodies.
