I'm a former 1993 Rx-7 R-1 owner and miss the performance of that car still. My prior Lexus 2003 ES-300 wasn't much on performance but Big on comfort. I drove it X-Country from NJ to SoCal several times and must say that it was the best all around ride I'd owned till then. Unfortunately, it was destroyed by a head-on collision with a drunk driver. I survived the event with little more than seat-belt bruising from the vehicle flipping on its' roof. Had I been in any other car, I don't think I would have been so fortunate. So, I was hard-over on buying another Lexus something, based on the crash worthiness and comfort of my ES-300. I found a used 2013 GS-350 with 70k on the clock and priced at $20K via a Vegas dealer and purchased it following a test drive. The overall look, feel, performance and comfort of this car was beyond my expectations and I closed the deal, filled the tank, got on the 15 and headed back to SoCali, where it's hot in the valley. Anyone whose driven that road will tell you that after crossing State-Line it's a long climb up to the summit-pass. Since I was driving late at night I thought a little spirited climb was in order. I was amazed at the GS-350s performance so much that, once at the summit, I pulled off the road to smoke a cigarette and grab a flash light to look under the hood. I was convinced this wolf in sheep's clothing must be turbo-charged. Of course, I never did find any turbos. (smile). Anyway, aside from oil changes I've not done any upgrades or mods other than replace the tires with a set of Continental 235/45 ZR-18s, DWS 06 PLUS. It's now time to replace the front brake pads & rotors. I've gone with a crossed drilled and slotted rotor and upgraded performance pads. So, I'll do the U-Tube thing and complete that maintenance requirement and go from there. Any suggestions or comments are welcomed. So, hello Lexus group and I look forward to gaining knowledge from all of you. Also, Willow Springs Race Track is 6 miles from my ranch. If any Lexus motor heads are planning an outing to said track, PM me. I'd be more than happy to act as support crew or whatever else you might need. Cheers ! Richard
Yeah, this car has a lot of power on the top end for being only a V6 with no turbos. Down low not so much but top end is when it wakes up and where the fun is at.
I live off the 15 and this is my happy place, especially after getting stuck in LA traffic.
Hi ItzFilyO,
I couldn't help but notice you have a crap load of posts and wondered if you had any suggestions for safely increasing the power of my 350. Having had a lot of experience with my RX-7, that forum, like this one, had a wealth of good information that covered everything from mild to wild. Of course, like my son use say about their (REX) fragile nature when it came to apex seals and boost; "...It's their job to BLOW UP" ! So, mods like going to a GReddy Profec B, replacing the OEM ECU or, upgrading the AST (Air Separation Tank) to a good after-market metal one, upgrading the intercooler for more capacity etc, were excellent mods that increased the cars performance and reliability.
So, I haven't researched this site much and wondered if you might point me towards some threads that would cover this sort of information.
Thanks, Richard
Sorry man, I don't have any info on performance as mine is bone stock! I just don't really want to mess with this car cause it's already good as it (at least for me).
But others have modded their GS to gain more power and maybe they'll chime in later.

Tagging @jgscott as he also might be able to provide some insight.
Bottom line is that there are no "easy" performance mods for this vehicle (i.e. like adding a chip to a BMW) - the big HP gains will cost you $$$. Congrats on the ride btw.

Hi and welcome! The GS350 is a little different but does have some pent up power to be gained. I'll give you a link to some info which is more so in the IS350 forum. Its the same engine and Trans.
The simplest power mods are intake (Hose replacement tube with stock airbox and drop in High flow filter), in addition to Axel back Exhaust. There are 2-3 Tunes, D3 Performance, RR Racing, and OV Tune. Then there are Headers for a little more gain, and other. For the D3 Performance Tune, it was not set for the 2013 GS350 but I'm sure they would give anyone the Tune they worked with me on for my, 2013 Gs350 and its very good. You can go all the way to Supercharger with RR Racings Kit.
Here is all you want to know, and more on the 2GR.
