Hello, I think I’m finally ready to get an axle-back exhaust. The two I keep see are the Borla s type and the Invidia Q300. The thing most important to me is get better sound and no drone. What are the pros and cons of each and are axle backs even worth it? Also is it something I should do my self or take it to a shop?

 

Straight forward install. I have the Borla Axle Back on my 2014 GS350 FSport RWD

 

Borla has been a lot more popular with us than the Invidia now.

One more for Borla, I got it installed a couple of years ago and am still super happy with it. As VR mentioned, very easy to install, and there is no drone. Wakes the car up once you go over 2300 rpm, below that you can barely notice any difference between the Borla and the OEM.

I have the Borla and I have not recognized any drone. I enjoy it thoroughly!

 

I also have the Borla and there is no drone..It comes alive around 2500rpm but once your cruising its just a tad bit louder than stock..only when you get on it does it wake up which I like..dont need to be driving around at 45-50mph and the car sounding like i'm going 90mph....I think the drone comes from replacing the Mid pipe with different resonators..

 

I could be wrong, but I think the drone comes from removing the resonator. But I never removed a resonator in any of my cars, so I cant say that for sure. In fact, this is the first time I replaced any of the exhausts in any of my cars.

Not quite an exhaust guy but that Borla makes the GS sound mean!!!!! Love it!
