Rust protection how good is on Lexus gs450h?
Hi great people not all of you have snow but in Europe we have a lot of snow due to this a lot of chemicals they spray over the roads due to this cars receives a lot of rust i have older car which is rotten to the end i have driven it 15 years and i have done 5 times rust repair on pro shops...
Japanese cars are famous not to use very good/ and solid steel , compared to Germans like bmw, audi, mercedess etcs... ot french so they rust a lot more.
My question today is how well rust protected is lexus gs450h from the factory and after that, is it safe to drive it in winter or i should drive my other older car into the winter in order to safe it from rust?
In my life i have only owned japanese cars and all of them use to rust a lot.
If not immidiately after few years and i am not talking about car accidents i mean agressive chemmicals which they use in winter for roads only... and heavy winter and snow which we have in BG, also i dont have any garage or shed to put inside the car so its outside all year long...
This leads to extra corrosion moisture and other bad things.

I don't think Lexus puts anything special on the underside of their vehicles to prevent rust.
If you have drive a lot and live in a snowy area, I would recommend lifting up your car and spraying CRC 6026 every few years:
It's discussed by many as one of the best rust inhibitors. Good luck!

I live in Sweden.
Bought mine with 88000km on it and it was sad underneath. Really sad.
Body doesn’t seem to rust but all details underneath and fasteners are of poor quality.
Not even close to that of the German counterparts.
But on the plus side I never have to look at it since it doesn’t break down (yet) all the time like the German counterparts.
With that said, it’s not like any older Japanese vehicles or let’s say as bad as Mercedes during 2000.
But it’s not great.
