Default Ball joint issue.

Has anyone had to replace there ball joints? I am 99% mine are going out. Its my wife's car and in the summer she took it down a road that almost no car should ever drive down let alone 15 gs f sport..
But she had a good reason. I j
almost positive it caused some damage to the suspension. It is catching groves in the road like never did before and when u come to a stop the wheel tends to turn itself left or right. Has anyone else had this issue. I also believe it may have taken a toll on the struts. But I have to get it in the air again and check to see if they are leaking yet or not but I know it isn't riding like it used to and I am bummed. The only thing is the parts aren't crazy expensive so that's good

Take it to any competent shop that can do front end alignments and they can diagnose it. It will be obvious if it is indeed that bad. Sounds more like a tie rod end though.

I own a auto shop... I just haven't had time to get it up in the air and check it over again.

I live in AZ so no real potholes but I replaced the front ball joints on my IS250 at 185k miles. They were still in good shape and the OEM replacements didn't make any difference. I also bought some low mileage rear hubs that have a few ball joints built into them and, again, no real difference. I would try an alignment first.

Lift if up and see if it's leaking or oily around the joint.

I think those of us from the 2GS forum are traumatized with our experiences

Well I found out yesterday afternoon that someone backed into it. Broke the drivers headlight, hood, fender, bumper... I have to get it fixed before my wife gets back. She will lose her grip on reality in its entirety if she finds out. Thank God I found the person that did it and they have insurance. My cost on the headlight alone is $1515. Hood is $900, fender is like $450, bumper cover about $450.

That sucks, man. At least it’s a black car and not a pearl so it should be easy for them to match the paint. That’s always my biggest fear with body work. So many cars out there have mismatched paint on body panels. Silver is the worst.
