Unhappy Cruise Control Not Working

Hi all,
I have a 2015 GS 350 F-Sport. I noticed a few days ago that cruise control is not working - When pressing the toggle switch - the dash indicator does not light up and cannot set the cruise speeds. Any suggestions here ?
thanks in advance...

That happened to me a couple of years ago. I needed a new cruise control switch, $400. Ouch!

Thanks! Did you take it in to the dealer or an independent mechanic? (Trying to determine the complexity of this fix)

All you have to do is remove the airbag. Then remove screws holding the silver trim piece. Then you have access to the plug and 2 screws that hold the cruise control switch in place.

DIY steering wheel airbag removal:

You can buy a new switch online from a lexus dealer like mylparts.com for $115 or just get a used on on eBay for $30. It's a 30 minute job, 15 minutes for the dealer mechanic, but they like to bill 2-3 hours.

You can see below a pic with the airbag removed. In pink is the screws you remove on the silver trim piece. Red is the two screws that hold the cruise control switch, green is the plug for the cruise control switch.

This is all assuming the switch is the problem and not something else. A scan with Techstream will tell you were the fault lies.

I believe it's under data lists. You'd see if there is one for the cruise control button. This can also be done with any bidirectional OBD scan tool.

One note, at least for my version of techstream and reading data is that it has a slow refresh rate (once every few seconds). So you'd want to make sure to hold down the button for a few seconds.

Here's a random video showing active tests, but you can see data lists.

At least for the 4GS it's under Powertrain then Cruise Control. It looks like there's data for Cancel, Set, Res button pushes.
