First time I’ve ever had aftermarket tint on a car. Headlights will give a double/multivison glare on the back window where the lines are. Is this normal and expected? Xpel prime Xr if it matters.
How old is the tint? Freshly installed tint that hasn't dried completely will be as you described. It usually dries clear within 3 days depending on outdoor temperatures, sunny and hotter being more desirable, and how good the install is. A good installer can squeegee most of the water out leaving the tint relatively streak, spot and bubble free when returning your car.
If the tint is cured at least 2 months, it might need cleaning with a tint safe glass cleaner and a microfiber cloth.
I've had many different types of tint and my Xpel XR 35% seems like it is has the best clarity of them all.
I’ve had a couple tints and they both did that with headlights. I think it gets slightly better as the tint cures or dries out or whatever. But yes, I still see this effect on mine.
OP - If you just got the tint installed there may be a little solution remaining between the glass and tint, which increases that glare condition a little bit. Give the tint some time to dry and chances are good it will improve. Too bad you don't have Dallas or Phoenix weather because sun and heat 'sets' newly installed tint quickly.

I’ve got dark tint on the back and also keep my rear sunshade up all the time.. but I never had any issues because I have a rear view mirror dash cam.. would highly recommend it. Once you drive with one you can’t go without it lol
