Default Cd player an option?

So ive had my 15 GS for about six months now and just thought about checking out the DVD portion out. But to my avail it would not suck in the cd and in the infotainment media selection portion the cd player option was greyed out and couldnt be selected 🤔... What does this mean? My base model is actually a super duper base model 🤣

Maybe there's a DVD disc in there already? Did you try ejecting?

Yea tried ejecting but pretty sure there is nothing in there because i can put slight pressure and push another cd in about 75% of they way with no restrictions. But still doesnt make since that it would be greyed out on the infotainment screen.

When you say super base, do you not have navigation? On a non-nav GS, it is just a regular CD player. It does not play DVD.

Yes it does have the large navi screen and the standard pioneer head unit that all GS's have.

Ur CD player most likely went bad. Mine did too and I had the dealer replaced it under warranty. I've never had a car CD player went bad like this, Lexus must have gotten some bad batches with the GS head units.

Well i spoke to soon it seams☹️😐... I tried to watch listen to a Led Zeppelin Live in concert DVD and it went back to not being able to click on the CD box under media, nither suck the CD in the slot (Sounds dirty&#128540. My FM/AM does the samething but i can click on it but no sound will come out and the # representing your preset will come and go when reception is gained or lost. The Radio/CD player it seems will always work in the morning when first starting the car, but is hit or miss at other times throughout the day.... Im lost on what the issue could be. Any guesses?

I think I read somewhere that the early GS had some radio issue with the sources getting greyed out.

I'm sure it's a failing head unit or if not failed already. Try asking the dealer about it and probably they can replace it for free. Some got free replacements for stuff that are out of warranty from Lexus, so it's worth a try.

I should give that a try and see what they say..only the AM/FM Radio and CD player are the only ones that give me any issue. The BlueTooth which i use 95% of the time always works along with the SAT radio and whatever else is remaining on the media portion. Ive also never had any issues with the dreaded amp failing to which you get no volume. One more question...Can we use a aux cable and watch YouTube™ videos from our phone on the navi screen?

There is a way, but I think I applies to iPod capable of video. You will need a certain aux cable that has a 3rd "ring" for video output. A standard aux cable only has 1 or 2 rings for audio (mono/stereo).
