Seems like a terrible material to have for any common touch points because dirt shows up very easily and it leaves marks anywhere you touch it. A nicer upgrade would be semi-aniline leather for the door armrests, console lid, dash trim instead of the fake leather.

If I found a junked one nearby I would in a heartbeat. Definitely wouldn't go out of my way to source and swap though.

If your really committed your best option is to have an upholstery shop rewrap the panels you want in suede/alcantara or whatever floats your boat.

Yeah I prefer mine (regular material) instead of that alcantara. Easier to clean and feels better for my dry hands.

I do like the non touch points with alcantara (i.e. dash) and the two tone center console.

I don't get any "touch marks" on mine.I do use sun shields as I am paranoid about the dash getting messed up from the sun.

The interior does look great with the red accents and stitching. Lexus did a nice job. I only wish they would have blacked out the chrome around the windows like they did everywhere else.

My primary experience with Alcantara has been with the Microsoft Surface Pro Signature Type Covers (the slightly more expensive ones). I've been relatively impressed with it as a material. I have staff that have the Poppy Red, the Ice Blue, and the Platinum. All seem to be wearing pretty well after almost a year - the Alcantara hasn't seemed to get worn on the palm rests nor does it seem look dirty. It's synthetic so I would think it cleans reasonably well.

Supposedly it wears better than real suede - I know I'd be concerned with suede here in the PacNW getting wet. Its not really a new material either - it's been around for 40+ years.

I do think it has a nice feel to it on the Type Covers.

That said, I'd probably have to agree with peasodos that my preference would be for real full grain high quality leather done by a great upholstery shop but realistically I'm not going to put that kind of money into the car at this point. I think the Alcantara piece I'd be most interested in would be the dash to help with reflections.
