Default Tint question

Hey guys,

im going to redo the tint on my windows, and I got some question.

i got quoted one side for $500 with xpel ceramic tint with removal of old ones.

the order is $469 with formula one Pinnacle. Without removal.

does the price seem right for ceramic? Or should I get another quote?

Sounds about right for a high end tint shop. I paid about that in Florida, for Formula One Stratos, which a step above Pinnacle. Sides, rear and sunroof, no windshield.

3M makes a heat reducing tint and it also goes on the front windshield. Its amazing but not cheap and will run you around a $1000 (whole car) with out removal of old tint. I can practically drive without sunglasses it blocks the sun that well.

I have 3M Crystalline CR70 on front windshield of our MDX. Heat rejection is really amazing, I can feel a huge reduction of heat inside the car during hot summer months here in SoCal. It is nearly clear so cops won't even notice your windshield is tinted. If I remember correctly, it was $350 to install. Totally worth it if you live in hot climate. Only thing I don't like is rainbow effect if you wear polarized sunglasses while you drive because of the built-in glare reduction coating. You can drive without sunglasses, the glare and UV reduction is that good.

I think I paid around $675 installation with for Llumar Stratos (best one).

Most tint shops will charge extra for tint removal.

Had Xpel Ceramic installed on one of my cars and it is one of the best Ceramic Tints I've ever used (vs. 3m Crystalline and Wincos Ceramic)
-Has a nice dark black color
-Little to no distortion (Crystalline has always looked odd at certain angles)
-Better heat rejection than Crystalline
-Paid $400 for 5 windows (60% Less than 3m)

I agree with this. I would only put the 3m Crystalline on the cars even though they are very expensive. At about $1000+ for a full car, it is pricey but you really do get what you pay for. The heat rejection from this tint is absolutely amazing.

Great detailer local to here you can expect $300 give or take for a sedan, plus $100 for windshield. Do not know brand he uses. I personally have 5% on sides and rear, 50% on windshield, and just got 50% on sunroof. Maybe my mind is playing tricks on me but I feel like the sunroof helped even with the cover closed

Had a friend get into an accident. Although he was clearly in the right, the tinted windshield cost him the case. Attorneys claimed it reduced visibility, which it does, and there was no valid counterargument.

Caveat emptor!

Moral...don’t tint your windshield. Other than that, the price seems within normal limits.

I got quote of $650 for Xpel Prime XR Plus on sides and rear window. No removal of existing tint. They want another $320 to do the windshield.
