Replace spark plugs every 60k?
Until you cross thread a plug, be sure to let the engine cool before removing a plug.

60K is ridiculous, modern plugs should easily last twice that, it is just a forced pricey maintenance profit for the dealership in order to keep your "emissions warranty". I wouldn't do it at 60K, how do they even know you changed them unless you overpay at the dealership where there is a record.

Maybe because it is over 300hp with direction injection? The non-di 350 engines have a longer interval. Any misfires could rapidly destroy the cats.

My 450h is direct and port injected just like the 350. The spark plugs last a lot longer than 60k miles more like double that number.
Yeah not enough for 40k miles recommendation difference. The only time the engine stops really is when the car is at a complete stop or low speed in ev mode. I could also be driving it hard in sport plus all the time and still only 100k mile recommend change interval.
It's not just my car it's other cars with spark plug recommendation at 100k miles.

Lexus seems to have double standards for different regions, same issues with the transmission oil change schedule. I guess if you want to be safe you just take the most conservative approach.
To be exact, spark plugs should not be based on milage but rather engine cycles. In theory someone could be a NY taxi doing short trips and sit idling for hours a day. Their spark plugs would be producing far more sparks per 100k than the long distance business traveller.

DENSO FK20HBR8 is rated at 80k-100k miles. Hybrids should go even longer as the engine is not on all the time.

Thanks for posting this. I find it interesting because the plug for my RX 350 (FK20HR-11) also shows 80-100k on the denso sight. The Lexus manual says to change them at 120K. I had them chaned at 113k and it was still running great with the old plugs.

Hi, can you explain in few words how to get to spark plugs on the driver side in the 4th GS450h? There is an ignition harness above the spark plugs, and some foam element on the last coil. Did you remove the inlet manifold?
