Talking 2021 IS vs Our Outdated GS

Now that the new IS is starting to pop up, I'm curious to know which one still drives better.

So those that are fortunate enough to be able to trash both the new 2021 IS350 F Sport and 2020- GS350 F Sport, please report here!!

How does this old but very well-tuned chassis and powertrain of our GS stack up against the new IS? Especially since both are still running the same 2GR-FKS engine.

Lexus seems to be touting their new "driving signature" that this new IS will debut. I wonder what that will mean for the new IS and new Lexus models going forward and how they will compare to past generations of cars.

What does the "Lexus driving signature" really entail in 2020/2021?

I'm not feeling the rear end of the vehicle. I don't like the full width tailights. Maybe it's something that will slowly grow on me.

It looked good on some of the press release pics and vids but now it looks ehhh... a bit weird and not in a good way.

Need to see it in person cause all of Lexus cars aren't photogenic and they always look better in person.

Yes, you are right about Lexus not being photogenic at all. I can't seem to get the right photo of my GS the way it looks in person.

Would you like the Supra's BMW engine?

Agreed. 4GS is difficult to photograph.

As sad as it may seem, yes. The supra is a surprisingly quick car and on the track it performed pretty admirably against mine and other lambos and mclarens

IS is way too small for me. I only think if that's was a GS, and it was bigger and more tech.

lol yeah. Take it from this article: "Next up on the dyno: the 2021 Supra. Engine revisions for this year include a new cylinder head and exhaust manifold, plus redesigned pistons. Toyota claims the turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six produces 382 horsepower and 368 lb-ft of torque at the engine's crankshaft. After a few runs on the dyno, the 2021 engine put down 388 horsepower and 421 lb-ft at the wheels. Remove the driveline losses, and the engine appears to be capable of 400 horsepower at the crank."

Thats almost double the torque of the Lexus GS350/IS350 engine. And the 2020 model is substantially quicker 0-60 than an ISF. I myself am a BMW hater but its hard to dispute the evidence they did something right here lol.

I really loved my IS, but for as much as I loved it, I don't think I could go back to one from the GS.

The refreshed IS very good looking. The interior updates were not as significant and a lot was left untouched. Some of the "tech" is improved, like finally offering a surround view camera, but yet you can't get memory seats.

I'm sure the suspension tuning they did is a big improvement, but at the end of the day, it's still on the same platform as the GS, and still has the same engine as the GS, but it's still smaller and less luxurious.
