I want to see if the supposed IS500 is any good. If they were smart, they would put the Zupra engine in it. Or the V8, but with better tune

Supposedly Toyota had their hand in improving the BMW engine design by giving BMW suggestions on how to make some things more reliable in the engine. In my eyes the new Supra is a very nice product. It may not be true to the original but I am also very glad they didn't make it highly underpowered like the FRS.

It SHOULD be better overall than our old GS. On top of the reworked handling, chassis the IS is already lighter, smaller and more agile. The GS has rear wheel steering? No other key benefits that would improve performance and handling over the IS.

With that "500" in the name, i'd think it would be more in line with the LS500 engine and have a twin turbo V6. But who knows? I think a V8 in a 2021/22 IS500 would really shock everyone...problem is Toyota tends to disappoint the enthusiast crowd to please the masses and meet regulations.

No rumors of a GS500?? Should we start one??

man, a rumor of a GS500 would keep.me up at night dreaming, the TTV6 is exactly what the GS could use, and OEM 20s a must lol....too bad Lexus screwed us with killing the GS.

i highly doubt it handles better than the GS F.
Also it doesn’t have a 50/50 weight distribution like the GS450h

While 5050 weight distribution is great, it doesn't overcome how much more it weighs. The GS450h weighs about 600lbs more than the IS350.

I'm actually 6' tall and my old 2GS was a bit roomier than the 4GS, it doesn't bother me in the front seat but no one can sit in the back seat. If I wanted a car that's large enough for me and rear passengers, it'll be LS all the way but then no one would sit in the front because they'd be reclined and massaged in the rear all the time.

The pop up LED display is annoying. This regardless of the brand.
our GS might be a bit dated but the integrated screen is just right.
Really, until you get behind the wheel and feel the dynamic it’s unless to fawn about the GS.
I would expect a IS350 Fsport will be more fun to drive but less comfort.

I got a ride from my friend's '20 IS and it was okay but very tight inside. '21 maybe a little more fun due to the better suspension, new touchscreen and other newer things. I definitely like the GS space and comfort.

The GS is the only car that makes me smile every time I drive it, years after years starting from my 2014 for those that remembers me since then.

And it makes me go like dis when I floor it and take corners really fast when others have to really slow down when I look at my rear view mirror.

I obviously haven't driven the refreshed IS, but I did own a 3rd gen IS350 when they first came out. I loved it, but I could never go back to an IS.

I never keep a car more than about 2.5 to 3 years. That's the point where I get tired of it and am ready to try something else. While I have blown through a few GSs in the past 5 years, the reality for me is that they were all basically the same car (all were AWD F Sports), it's just that two of them were the refreshed design. I plan to keep my 2020 GS for a long time. For those who know me well, the fact that I've had a GS for 5 years is all the endorsement that's needed. I still love the GS, outdated and all. There really isn't any tech that I find it to be missing that I would want. I have CarPlay in my Tacoma and, though I use it a lot, I don't really care much for it and am not missing it from my GS. I wouldn't mind more power, but even if it had more power, I'd still "not mind" having more. The 4th gen GS is just the car for me.

I've only used the CarPlay on my ES once, that is when I tested it to see how it works. That's it!
