2021 IS vs Our Outdated GS
Supposedly Toyota had their hand in improving the BMW engine design by giving BMW suggestions on how to make some things more reliable in the engine. In my eyes the new Supra is a very nice product. It may not be true to the original but I am also very glad they didn't make it highly underpowered like the FRS.
It SHOULD be better overall than our old GS. On top of the reworked handling, chassis the IS is already lighter, smaller and more agile. The GS has rear wheel steering? No other key benefits that would improve performance and handling over the IS.
No rumors of a GS500?? Should we start one??

With that "500" in the name, i'd think it would be more in line with the LS500 engine and have a twin turbo V6. But who knows? I think a V8 in a 2021/22 IS500 would really shock everyone...problem is Toyota tends to disappoint the enthusiast crowd to please the masses and meet regulations.

Also it doesn’t have a 50/50 weight distribution like the GS450h
but then no one would sit in the front because they'd be reclined and massaged in the rear all the time.
The pop up LED display is annoying. This regardless of the brand.
our GS might be a bit dated but the integrated screen is just right.
Really, until you get behind the wheel and feel the dynamic it’s unless to fawn about the GS.
I would expect a IS350 Fsport will be more fun to drive but less comfort.

The GS is the only car that makes me smile every time I drive it, years after years starting from my 2014 for those that remembers me since then.
And it makes me go like dis

when I floor it and take corners really fast when others have to really slow down when I look at my rear view mirror.

I obviously haven't driven the refreshed IS, but I did own a 3rd gen IS350 when they first came out. I loved it, but I could never go back to an IS.
I never keep a car more than about 2.5 to 3 years. That's the point where I get tired of it and am ready to try something else. While I have blown through a few GSs in the past 5 years, the reality for me is that they were all basically the same car (all were AWD F Sports), it's just that two of them were the refreshed design. I plan to keep my 2020 GS for a long time. For those who know me well, the fact that I've had a GS for 5 years is all the endorsement that's needed. I still love the GS, outdated and all. There really isn't any tech that I find it to be missing that I would want. I have CarPlay in my Tacoma and, though I use it a lot, I don't really care much for it and am not missing it from my GS. I wouldn't mind more power, but even if it had more power, I'd still "not mind" having more. The 4th gen GS is just the car for me.
