What kind of issues are occurring when you mention "battery draw issue"? Apologize in advance if I'm missing the obvious. Have had the VL2 installed for 3 months and have had some issues with the system but a quick hard reset always fixed the issue.
I brought my car to the dealer for the fuel pump recall. Told them to check the battery as well since if it sat for a week or 2, it would die, which seemed premature. I figured it was the battery or even me not driving it enough, which I had my doubts about but still considered.
The texted me and said
”the car definitely has a draw from somewhere...it keeps jumping from 20mA to 110mA. Gonna have to do some more diagnosis tomorrow to find it. Did you put any accessories on this car? We didn't see anything but we wanna make sure. Let me know ”
I have had VL2 installed in my car for over a year now. Never any issues starting the car. Though my battery is relatively new and I often use a trickle charger as my car sit in garage for many weeks in between use. Didn't some 2013-2014 GS 350 had ECU parasitic draw issues that was covered under warranty? What MY is your car?
Just a follow up. It is the Smart Certification ECU that is causing the draw, guess has to do with the keyless entry.
Cost out the door Is around $1800. Luckily have a Zurich warranty that covered it fullly, which covers 3 more years and cost $2400 when we bought the car used at 2 years old.
All it cost me was a $100 deductible. On the flip side, I get to use a new RC with 800 miles on it for a few days while they do the repair and take care of the Fuel pump recall as well.
Nice glad you got it taken care off. Some members buy used ECU and swap it themselves for much less
I know that was the case for the Network Gateway ECU. I replaced that last month with a new OEM part, it was only $100 versus $45 for a used one. I didn’t realize the Centralization ECU was common as well
anyone else? I just installed the vline2 in a 2019 GX 460 and after 3 days my batter was nearly dead. the vline never seems to shut or go to sleep so I'm wondering if I have the same issue?
