Default Tpms Sensors question

Im looking for tpms sensors for my 2015 gs350 fsport. When I look up part number number 42607-30060 I'll get listings for 42607-06020. Are these parts interchangeable? Lexus wants 100 a piece and on ebay they are around 65. Some off brand ones are 45 for (4)! Seems like a pay now or pay later deal with those. Thanks guys!

https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...)+sensor,12036

I'd go with the denso's.

Also beware of the knockoffs on eBay with oem looking packaging. Just like kockoff spark plugs, only buy from trusted vendor or dealer.

Hi guys. I just got the 2015 Lexus GS350 f sport and I'm giving my 2009 Lexus GS350 to my dad. I am gonna keep my old wheels though. Anyone know if I have to switch tire pressure sensors too? I noticed the 2015 shows how much pressure is in the tire and I'm assuming the tire pressure sensor is updated as well to read the pressure?

I too bought Denso TPMS 5500105 for $41/ea on Rock Auto. It's direct OEM replacement, works good no problems. Do not buy them on eBay, bunch of fakes.

Do you mind me asking why do you need new TPMS's? Are these a wear part, like you should change them at 100k miles or something? Or are they like an O2 sensor, and you should only replace if there is a problem. Plus, all they do is measure the tire pressure, is that correct? $100 apiece, or $400 for all four tires to replace at Lexus, seems like one hell of a price for something you can do with a $5 tire gauge and 5 minutes per month. I have put air in my tires once in 16 months. And that was to put like 4 lbs. in for the winter in Florida. If mine go, I will have a hard time convincing myself to replace them.

The batteries start to fail, although I'm surprised any 4GS have failed thus far. I have a 2012 with 120000km and I haven't had any issues yet, the batteries should last 7-10 years.

Nah they're more for letting you know there is a serious issue looming before it comes one. My wife's GTI TPMS light came on when we were about to enter a motorway so I directed her to a servo instead. The tyre was really flat by then, we'd have been stuck on a motorway without air (spare was flat and we'd witnessed a death on the shoulder there months before) if the car didn't have TPMS. Have been a massive fan ever since.

For some reason my GS doesn't show me the pressures (which the $5 gauge does too) but it just turns a warning light on if one tyre gets too low, they must have run out of time to implement it.

I wouldn't buy TPMS from dealership, unless you want to get raped. Get Denso OEM 5500105 for $41/pc on RockAuto. Also avoid buying them on Ebay or Amazon...lots of fakes floating around.
Then go to your local Discount Tires Store to swap them out next time you need balancing or rotating your wheels. Kill two birds with one stone.
In my case, I got new aftermarket wheels. Instead of swapping TPMS from my old wheels, I decided to get a new set. Don't have to worry about them for another 7-10 years. Plus I can always swap back my old wheels without needing to swap TPMS again.

I'm about to purchase the Denso's for my new wheels. Do you know if any service kit on RockAuto should be purchased with it? Im gonna have a shop install them/program them for me anyway

If you buy the sensor from Rockauto, you don't need the service kit. A new Denso sensors comes with everything you need. The service kit is only if you are doing an actual servicing, like tire replacement or fixing a leaky, improper install of the sensor.

okay, thanks. Just ordered the monitors. Do you remember if they had to be programmed or did your car just learn them?

They will have to be programmed. I don't know why everyone is saying that the car will just relearn them. It won't unless your order a sensor that you have to clone the registration codes to the new sensor.
