Default Engine Air Intake Resonator

Has anyone tried changing out the F Sport Engine Air Intake Resonator for the GS 350? Would this part work even though it says it would for the RX 350?

Yes it works and yes I've done it. I ended up putting my F Sport generator back on. It's quieter with the RX one, but not hugely so. But it's a cheap mod so try it out and see what you think.

Does this redirect the air elsewhere? If so, then is it bad for the vehicle?

No redirection of air. Totally safe.

I took it off and enjoyed the quieter ride. Put it back on after a few months and removed it again within a few days... I like it quieter.

Thanks for including some pictures. That's going to be helpful.

I took it off and replaced with the RX delete. And... lasted about 5 days. I put the stock resonator back on and enjoy the sound. To each his own though. I like a little more sound and grunt. If I wanted a quiet and tame car, I would have bought an ES.

The quiet has no effect on the tame...or lack thereof.

At least we have the ability to add or remove the fake engine noise, some other cars do it through the speakers with no off switch. The worst offender is the BMW i8, fake muffler with speaker in it, so you can hear the fake exhaust noise outside the car.

I wish I could afford a Tesla Model S. Quiet and accelerates like a sport bike.

In my price range, I'll drive a used GS with the noisemaker deleted.

I wish the GS sounded like my old FX35. I LOVED the sound of Infiniti's VQ35 and the exhaust note

Yep... I did enjoy the sound of my 1st gen G35. Then as it got older, I related the sound to the gulping of gas.... to the tune of 15mpg while having fun and 17.5 on a normal day.

True, Gas mileage was never a strong suit with my FX35. However, it was fun to drive, reasonably quick, and the 20s looked awesome

I replaced the F-sport engine resonator recently. I think that it reduces the engine sound by 50%. Although, I think it makes me more cognizant of the road noise now . For the cost and time, I personally feel that it was a worthwhile mod.

Now, does anyone have any ideas for reducing road noise with a relatively inexpensive and easy mod?
