Just drove 250 miles and no indication of air flow robbing HP. Side by side, can't see any difference in diameter of the two air intakes. Definitely is quieter in low acceleration.
Note: the wife did mention in lieu of the sound she still feels the acceleration. I responded I took care of the hearing, that is the end of the mods.
I preferred the GS450H intake versus doing the mods with HD parts. $80 and 20 minutes work.
Yep, I totally agree. It would be almost impossible for me to put the sound generator back on, now that I am used to the lack of noise. You now hear the engine RPM, transmission whirring and even the exhaust note. I totally realize this is just my opinion, but it's much MUCH better. Now there's no "big production" (regarding the noise level) when you get on the gas heavy, just smooth acceleration with some mild associated noises. Now when I "get on the gas" my passenger(s) know it because of the feeling of acceleration...not because of the noise they hear. The PERCEPTION is that the car seems faster - Lord knows it is NOT so save your comments, LOL!

LOL! Too funny! I’d hop on the restrictor plate removal train if it DID improve performance! :-)
I have bought the non-f-sport tube for the RX350 and the part fits perfectly.
There's no need to buy HD parts, the RX350 part is only $10 plus shipping.

I’ve been driving like a grandpa, breaking in my 2018 and trying to maximize MPGs. Now that it’s been more than a month, I’ve been goosing the pedal a little more and I’ve found the drone to be a little out of place... not enjoying the sound, but I can get used to it.
For $10 I’m certainly going to order the RX cap and see how that works...
Here's the picture after installation. Partial throttle at 1.5-2.5k rpm would no longer induce drone, and overall the volume is a bit lower. For the price and ease of installation I would say it's totally worth it.
I checked Home Depot, they have 1-1/4” plug for 98cents or so. I filed off the threads and used black silicon ( gasket maker type sensor safe) to plug the hose
I got the non-F RX resonator referenced here yesterday and took about a minute to swap out. Waaaaaaaaay nicer. I kinda like the stealthy acceleration, but the car is just quieter even under normal acceleration. One of the things I used to dig about my GS400 was that butter smooth and super quiet V8. It had a mellow note to it and when you hammered on it, it would just pull without drama. It's back!
Just a bit on the RX Resonator....Not complaining about the $10. That was well worth the price of admission, but it really is an over engineered plug. Not sure why it's a circle attached to a hollow box, when a simple pug would do? Just an odd thing really. I think one of the engineers was bored! LOL!
