Fuel Pump Recall Poll
Had mine done yesterday, car drives the same, first few miles felt like a little more acceleration but that was likely due to battery being reset, it took about 2 hours to do. I had a slight gasoline smell in the interior so I put one of those pumpkin spice scented cube packs in my car and cracked it open, smells like fall/Thanksgiving in there and the gas smell is mostly gone now.
They didn't refill my tank/give me any gas, left it on empty, guess I am not special, just another reason to avoid the dealership.

Forgot to post when I got it done.
Had appointment set up. Dealer told me to have a quarter tank or less of gas. Unfortunately I forgot about this and got back home from work the day before repair day with half a tank of gas.
I called them to see if it was a big deal. The lady told me they would reschedule me if I had more than a quarter of a tank
I already was taking a day off work for the repair and didn't want to miss it so I took a trip to burn off some gas.
Anyways by the time I got to my appointment I had the gas light on and was maybe 15 miles from being dry. I was also the first appointment that morning.
I left my car and took an uber to the mall since they said it would take 4 hours. About 1 hour after I left I got a call saying they were all done.
Confused as to why it was so quick they told me it's because they didn't have to siphon gas (?). Ok... Is that the part that usually takes 3 hours? whatever, I was satisfied.
Good news was they left me with a full tank! And there was a slight gas smell for a day or so.

Could anyone give me a run down on the repair procedure for this? I just had it done and I’m wondering if they access the fuel pump from under the backseat or drop the tank from the bottom? Only reason I ask is because my rear interior is pretty banged up now and it wasn’t like that before. I’ve got a hole in the left rear door panel, left uniside has a dent, scratch on left rear door under handle, hole in the back of front right seat, and scratches on both rear seat backs and both interior upper kick panels.

They have to remove the rear seat to get to the floor access door for the fuel pump. You need to take the car back to the dealer and make them fix all the damage. I guess you didn’t know they had to remove the rear seat so you didn’t inspect at pickup.

Yes, they access the fuel pump from the back seat, document all the damage, take pictures, then demand they fix/replace all the parts they damaged, if they refuse, contact Lexus corporate. Sounds like they got some cut rate employees who could care less about customer cars.
I've removed the rear seat in my car and it's not hard at all.
Actually to access the fuel pumps you only have to remove the rear seat bottom and that's only held down by 2 clips. Whoever worked on your car had to be really careless and incompetent to cause that damage.
My 2013 stumbled on me while accelerating after pulling a u-turn. Entire car felt like it was going to stall, but it kicked right back up. Unfortunately not part of the recall, but I'm suspecting it has to do with the pump. Toyota just added another 1.5 M vehicles. Something is fishy about this whole ordeal.
backseat pulled to access the pump, sometimes tank is dropped depends on model:GS or RX or GS, etc.
