Fuel Pump Recall Poll
Anyone feel their car pulls more consistent after the recall? I think my Fuel pump was on the way out, it had 81k on it and i do ALOT of highway driving and took a few roadtrips in the car. Before the recall was done i was noticing the car would occasionally seem to falter in the higher rpms when i was giving it alot of gas. Now it doesn't seem to do that .
My invoice says...."replace low-pressure fuel pump"
cause...."open recall 20LA01"
Not sure if that means there's also a second(additional) high-pressure pump that's not under recall??
It does say...."vehicle may stall during driving at higher speed"

Correct, this recall doesn't impact the high pressure pump.
Anyone else hesitant about getting this recall done? There seems to be very few if any reported instances of the fuel pump causing a stall or no engine start.
Due to location of this low pressure fuel pump being near or in the fuel tank this requires a big tear of down of the car interior.
I'll probably get mine done, but I just want to wait and see that there are no reports of any issues with this new replacement.

Why wouldn't you want to get the recall done? You might have problems selling the car if recalls are not completed. I had zero issues, just a few minor fingerprints smudges. They just remove the rear seat bottoms, nothing major. No creaks ans rattles that I notice afterwards.
I've been calling my dealer for this recall, yet they have always been 'out of parts' due to high demand. I called again today and they said that I do not have a recall on my car, yet I received two recall letters for it. I went out to the Lexus website under recalls and entered my VIN, which confirmed what the dealer said, no recall due. I even tried NHTSA's website and got the same result.
Based on the recall letter, I called Lexus corporate (their 800#), and they said I definitely have a recall and that it has not been fixed. To confirm it (once again), I logged into Lexus Drivers website Lexus Drivers and it confirmed that I have a recall due.
Obviously the Lexus & NHTSA websites are faulty, so if it says you don't have a recall and you think you do, check the Lexus Driver's website or call Lexus directly (800-255-3987)

I just had this done yesterday and picked the car up today. I drove it pretty hard for about 20 minutes around town after I picked it up (not for any particular reason, just felt spirited).
Did anyone else notice a fuel/gas smell in their garage a couple hours after? Prior to the repair I've never noticed any gasoline smells in my garage but it was apparent 6 hours after my driving was done when I went back into the garage. I'm hoping this is just a new fuel pump getting burned in type of thing and will go away. Anyone else notice it and if so did it stop shortly after?
Fwiw I don't have any gas or fuel connection to the house at all, so it has to be from the car.
