that my 2013 GS 350 would have remote start? Is there a special chip in that fob that would remote start my vehicle?
thats is for the complete remote start system, not just a remote.
Your better off getting a remote start kit from MPC, they also have a app based service $100 for 3 years so you can start the car from an app on your smartphone, costs less than the oem Lexus remote start.
I have what peasodos suggested, bought from https://shop.mypushcart.com/plug-n-p...5-lexus-gs350/
I had it for over 5 years, I only have the remote starter, if you want the remote app feature like peasodos said you need to sub and get an additional remote module. No issue with this setup, thanks.

Does this require any reprogramming of the factory remote? Also, is it pretty easy to install? Thanks
No reprogramming of the remote is necessary. You have to press 3 times the pick button and it activates. The T-harness plugs in easily. They do have the installation sheet that you can download. You don't have to buy from the same place i bought. I think i also saw it on Amazon also. If you decide to buy and need help just PM, thanks.
Thanks to @peasodos for recommending the remote start, and BIG THANKS to @macnugget for all of the help with the installation. The remote start works well, and I'm excited to not have to sit shivering in my seat as I wait for the car to warm up this coming winter.
Works like a charm. Integrates into the factory keyfob (press lock 3x's to start, another 3x's to shut off). Keeps the car on for 15 minutes and shuts it off automatically when you open the door. A little tricky to install for a total novice like me... there's no step by step instructions specifically for our GS350... there is however a Youtube video that shows the process for the ES350. I was able to figure it out after about an hour or so. The hardest part of the whole process was removing the lower part of the steering wheel column shroud and lower dash panel under the steering wheel. From there it's really just plug and play. Lastly, I would also not recommend doing this on a 95+ degree day in Georgia haha.

I put that one in as well on my wife's NX, its a great aftermarket option to save on the monthly fee.
I am going to try the 12v one that you have mentioned for my GS. (Advertised as 100% plug and play)
i tried the mpc one then got to the step where it involved splicing and wire cutting 2 wires in such tight little spaces , even after all that and almost bricking the car, still wouldn’t work. They were very responsive with customer service however, but this kit is not 100% plug and play (and they never advertised it as such anyway)

That's too bad I have the MPC kit and i didn't have to splice anything...works fine for me. Hardest part was taking off the trim
I am installing the MPC kit without any options, just the remote start with the factory keyfobs. Are you sure CAN2 high and CAN2 low connections are not needed? That would be great. I'd rather not splice into any wiring. I imagine the CAN2 connections are for controlling door locks and stuff related to the app.
