Default Gs 350 lsd

Hello all,

I normally frequent the ISF forum. I am considering selling my daily is350 to buy a bigger gs350, and I’m curious if there is a way to confirm which Fsport models have LSD. I know it was an option on them. I don’t want to buy a non Torsen LSD model. All advice is appreciated.

The LSD was an option on 2017+ Lexus GS F-Sport RWD models only. It may be a bit difficult to find since the GS wasn't a big seller in the years they offered it. You would have to carefully scan the options and possibly ask for the dealer for a detailed breakdown of the factory installed OE options.

Here's the only one i've come across in a quick search: https://www.sewell.com/VehicleDetail...-TX/3749661323

You'd probably have to manually paste vin numbers into drivers.lexus.com and download the detailed build sheets to find one with LSD installed. I have no idea how common that option was. I certainly would have wanted it if I was buying a new F-Sport but they may have been factor-installed only.

I have been wondering what the cost would be like to just buy one and have it installed.

I shopped the 2018s and I only saw a couple with the Torsen. Those two also had the rear wheel steering, which I didn't want. I settled for no Torsen. An electronic lsd (brake is applied to the spinning wheel) is standard on the F-Sport - a poor man's lsd.

Oh snap I thought all GS had electronic LSD

GS F swap would be cool but I don’t wanna be the first to try it. Who knows if the stock software can cope with the swap. Actually, who knows if it can even cope with mechanical/Torsen LSD without some sort of flash from the dealer/factory.

I'm sure you're right; I was just looking at the F-Sports. It makes sense that Lexus would do it on all GS - it's basically free.
