Default Update Map

How do you update the map that comes with the car. It is asking for a sim card to do it? Last time it was updated was 2014.

$200-$300 for a Gen 8/Gen 9 SD-Card with latest map updates (2019). You have to go to the dealer, and get a new SD-Card. On new models however, I believe you have the option to use your phone via the Lexus app to get temporary Dynamic updates.

Did the latest maps come out yet or these are from last year's edition?

Don't waste your money on a map update get apple carplay/android auto with Grom or Beatsonic. Then you'll never need a map update again and have google maps or waze that is way better than the car navigation.

Thanks for the information.
I am from the Caribbean and I have imported a 2013 GS350 from Singapore, so changing the maps was a concern for me.

I have checked out the Grom and Beatsonic options, both of which support only wired connections for Android Auto - is there any option for wireless. ?

My other vehicle has a Pioneer AVH-W4400NEX which supports the wireless option which is extremely convenient. connects as soon as i start the vehicle.

I have Carlinkit, but currently it only works on 2016+ GS, it has problems with the 2013-2015 split screen. It is wireless and for iPhone connects carplay automatically as soon as the car starts.

Grom is releasing an update soon for wireless airplay/carplay.
More info in the grom thread.

Fantastic News, I will be looking out for this.
I think the GROM option appears to be better integrated with the OEM system and has an a simplified installation., so this works out well for me since i was already considering pulling the trigger on the new VL2
