Default Debadging

I hate starting these new threads, but this is my first Lexus (been an Infiniti guy since 2004). I've been looking at all these awesome pictures of your 4th gens and noticed that nobody removes any of the badging on the trunk lid. I want to remove the "AWD GS350" and "FSport" badges from the trunk and was wondering if there were locator holes under the badges. I want to keep the "F" on the fenders though. Has anyone done this?

There are no holes in the trunk for any of the badges except for the Lexus logo at the top center of the trunk. The rest are just double sided taped on. First thing I did was debadge my GS model number. Just use fishing line or dental floss to cut the adhesive behind the badge. Then use goo gone or rub it off with your fingers to get the rest of the residue off.

Excellent news! I've had the car 2 days and I can't stop driving it. I'll remove them today. I'm going to keep the "F" badges on the fenders though, I really like those.

The f-badge on the fender also doesn't have a hole behind it if you ever decide to remove it.

Use a heat gun to warm up the adhesive to make it easier to remove. Also, do NOT use goo gone to remove the remaining adhesive. You’re just going to make a bigger mess than you need to.. but instead use some 90% Isopropyl Alcohol to clean up the remaining adhesive.

I used a blow dryer and dental floss on my Infinitis and it worked great. I'll definitely go the alcohol route as goo gone. as well as it works, does indeed make a mess. I was just concerned about holes when badges were removed. Thanks for the quick replies folks!

@RichKnecht There are a few members that have done this but sometimes its hard to find. Here's a recent example of fellow member ch0n with the exact look you are going for with his F-Sport debadged: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...l#post10732685

Glad to hear you're enjoying the GS - don't be afraid to show off some pics!

Debadged is definitely the way to go.

I agree with de-badging, looks a lot cleaner, my Liquid Platinum 2013 Lexus GS 450h
Black oem spoiler
Blacked out chrome trim
GS F tail lights
I plan on getting the 2016+ Gloss black non-hybrid diffuser, and adding oem exhaust tips wrapped in satin black(already have the tips).
