Default Clearbra

Hi guys!

I have a question for you all. How many of you have Clearbra or similar products on your front ends? When I purchased my GS, I removed the front license plate frame and saw some not so pretty damage done when the previous owner/dealership attached the plate holder. I am going to have it repaired and was wondering would a Clearbra be a good thing to do after? There is a clearbra here in Salt Lake--which I use frequently for window tinting, etc. They can give me a pretty good deal, I'm just wondering how others feel who have or don't have a similar product.

Here's a picture of the damage.

Any help is appreciated.

I have Xpel on mine and fairly pleased with it. It is only 8mil thick so some objects will penetrate it and leave permanent marks.

Luckily mine came with it. It is now about 4 years old so its looking dull and yellow-ish. I have gotten a few quotes around my area, most are $1000-1300 which seems pointless at this point as I may not keep the car for longer than another year. Will definitely fork it up for any car that I get in the future.
If you can get a good deal on it , get it ! Totally worth it .

I would say avoid paintwork, just put a new front license plate bracket and rock the front plate.
Liquid platinum is a hard paint to blend and the work will be expensive, you might regret having them repainting that section as the work will not be perfect like factory, and it will not be cheap since it's a 3 stage paint job.

Also imo PPF is a must for the front bumper to prevent rock chips. Just the front bumper alone with Xpel is going to cost $600-700 by a good installer.

Oye... I did not realize that the liquid platinum is a hassle to paint and match . I also hate the front license plate, but I don't want miss matched color . The place I was going to go to was referred to by the dealership. Do you think that would be a safe place to go?

Yeah I went though the process of getting the hood repainted after someone backed into it. I would never again get my car repainted if I could avoid it, especially with 3 stage paints. I would say the paint match is 95%. You can tell if you know what your looking at in direct sunlight. Not to mention a few imperfections that didn't buff out since it's under the clear coat. The hood looks much better than before, but I had no idea getting it repainted would be such a hassle.

I had the same problem. I didn't want a license plate holder, so I installed bumper plugs...

I prefer them to the plate holder.

Thanks so much for the replies ! I think I will go the front plate route. I don't want to mess up the paint and the front plate can cover up the holes.

I have PPF on mine too. It's Nano Fusion and so far no problem with yellowing (but it does stay in the garage when not in use). However, it will get nicks and in some cases if the debris is heavy enough it will penetrate the film. The good news is that it stops 90% of the debris from damaging the paint.
